So I've been looking at images of the Shockwave HISS Destro, and -- okay, I'm not an expert in modern Joe parts -- but I'm trying to figure out who he's made of, operating under the assumption that no new parts were actually created for him.

The B.A.T. is easy enough -- it's a recolored B.A.T.

But Destro? So far, I've identified the Techno-Viper arms, and that's about it. I'm not even sure which Destro head was used.

I thought maybe some of the thick Hazard-Viper/Volcano-Viper parts might be in there, but I'm not so sure.

Help?

The head, I believe is the same as Arctic Destro (which I think is the same as the RoC Destro)

Arctic and City Strike Destro share a head. I don't think it's the same as RoC, but I may be wrong.

Head: Arctic/"Bank Robber" Destro
Arms: 30th Techno-viper
Torso, legs, vest: Renegades Trooper (same as POC Dusty)

I have to say it is a really brilliant combination of parts. The Techno-viper arms look really good in this dark purple and it makes me wish the actual Techno-viper was this dark purple. I don't really care for the bulky kneepads on the Cobra Trooper but here they work.

I wasn't expecting to get this set, but the local comic store grabbed what they could at SDCC and when I saw that giant beautiful box I could not resist.

I was GIDDY when I opened it and put together Shockwave. It's an AMAZING set, and the only shame is Hasbro feels like they can't offer things like this more often with greater availability.

Construction Bat is a fun repaint, and actually got me wondering if classic COBRA vehicles in those colors would go over well.

Destro works incredibly well, I can't even say why... but he's a fun match for Shockwave, and is a simple but very effective design.

The head is City Strike Destro's.

It was a brand-new sculpt, whereas Arctic Destro used a repaint of ROC Destro's head.

Two questions (the second one especially for you, DanOfTheHead, since you have a set) -- was the previous use of this Destro head chromed? (I saw so many of those arctic Destros when they were around I seem to have literally blocked out the memory of any Destros from the time).

I have also seen one set open and in person, and was able to make a fairly close study of it. I know this sounds nit-picky, but the Destro had a glitch on his nose, a rough spot, like maybe there was a problem with the plastic and they just chromed over it anyway. Is yours like that at all?

Agreed, this is a magnificent set. Shockwave is one of my favorite Transformers, I've always liked Destro, and B.A.T. variants will always get my attention.

Geez, I need to pay more attention. I thought it was just a repainted City Strike Destro. But this combination sounds pretty awesome.

I like the bulky kneepads. They're perfect for Tile-Viper. B/c someone has to lay tile in all those Cobra fortresses. That's why.
