Hello all,

I have come to the conclusion that my collecting has grown too big for future plans. BUT what to do with it?
I'm not just going to give it away. I've donated enough toys over the years and will continue to do so, so I don't feel guilty about not giving away vintage toys.
Not only has it grown to big with Joe's but also comics and other action figures. I've photographed all of the action figures I'm going to sell and am now working on the Joes. With my 60+ hours of work and needing to spend time with the family it's taken a while to sort through all of it.

So now that I'm getting close to being ready to sell.....how to sell it all?

EBay??
Online store??
Conventions?? A little to late for that and Vegas is a waste land for that sort of thing.

Ideas and tips would be very helpful.

This is just the ARAH and New sculpt part of my collection.

eBay it in lots. You can dump it really fast that way.

Both good suggestions but the problem is $$$$.
Can I really get any return through ebay and I'm sure ZG won't pay more than a buck a figure...well I'm not sure which is why I'm seeking advise.

By the way this does not include vehicles and playsets.

I forgot... Do I want to keep at least one of each figure or sell them all. I love the look of the new stuff but the playability of ARAH IMO. can't be beat. They are much easier to move and fit most of the vehicles I have.

You're not going to get a return unless you have the time to devote to selling it.

And time is something I have precious little of.
Although .. If I set up an online store ( which would take time ) I could Have my kids manage it. Most of the money is going to go toward school, transportation and insurance for them anyway whay not have them help??

The problem is, you need to decide if you want them gone quickly, or want a decent return. If you want them gone quickly, then selling in big lots is the way to go, but just come to peace with the fact that you're going to get a lot less than if you sold them individually. If you want a good return (not a great one...I think those days are over), sell on ebay or message boards in small lots or individually, but realize it's going to take a lot longer to clear out any real space (especially when you factor in things like negotiation time and the time/cost of shipping lots of small lots).

Unfortunately, you just can't get it both ways. I'm in the same boat right now. Another method might be to decide if there are some items out there you don't have but really want, hunt them down and make generous trade offers with what you have. You'll be trading in the other guy's favor, but at least you'll be getting something you want while clearing out numerous things that you don't.

This. You are really going to have to sit down and treat this like a job if you want a good return.

I don't mind working it like a job and with two older teens I think we could make a pretty good go of it.

But do I go the ebay route , build my own online store, Build a face book business page or just post everything here?

The problem is- who wants New Sculpt figures? (And I see a lot in there.) I don't care how much you work it, there's no real demand. ARAH stuff you'll do okay on. And 25 style you can make some money back.

This. New Sculpt has almost no market.
