Brazil's take on Beachhead V2, a figure I think is actually pretty great. If it hadn't gone to Brazil, I'd love to have seen the Club do a take on him in different colors. As it stands, I guess I'll just have to try and customize one, only as this guy . . .

Trap

Ex-guerrilla in Africa, he knows all about pitfalls, traps and ambushes. One of his greatest pleasures, and hear the chilling sound of breaking bones when they were caught in their nefarious creations. Even the snakes are afraid of falling into any of them call when they need it for any mission. After all, they think, how can anyone trust a man called Trap?

Suspicious of everything and all, he never leaves his body discovered. Nobody ever saw him without a helmet, vest and uniform. Commands have joked that come close to him already and fall into a trap. The smell and terrible. . .

Like Pantano, who's name apparently means "Swamp" (Thanks Sean!) Armadilha's name translates as Trap. Not very creative. Armadilha is a cool enough name, but I've started thinking of him as Snare. Armadilha keeps with the Brazilian tradition of having the bad guys be really bad. Even the less violent ones are still bastards just for the sake of bastardry. A trap expert definitely seems like a good specialist for Cobra though, it's a cool niche, if not a very toy-etic one.

I thought he was associated with some vehicle, too and that's why Devil's due made him Cobra armored forces commander or something.

Maybe not, though. Some other Brazillian characters were from that "era".

I was looking around to find out and I've never heard of the supermaquetes offer on this Brazillian poster before.

Even though I can see that those are just simple vacu-formed pieces of plastic, I want those so bad it hurts. They're very reminiscent of the Remco American Defense/U.S. Forces stuff (which I also love), and if I had them as a kid, they would have gotten used to within an inch of their lives. The picture of them set up is really cool. Good find; I hadn't seen that before, either.

Those playsets are pretty cool. I wish Joe were a big enough brand to merit knockoffs and "compatible with" lines the way it used to be. Though there isn't much of that for any brand anymore. On Armadilha's vehicle association, going by the specialties on YJB, he's one of the few that year without a vehicle mentioned. They probably just saw that the name looked vaguely like "armor" and ran with that. I seem to recall someone using him as the Alley-Viper commander because if the shield I assume. Fortunately the story they came up with for him in Brazil is more interesting than both of those options as far as I'm concerned.

I missed this one when you first posted it. I can't believe his name doesn't translate to Armadillo. It seemed so obvious, haha. The Brazilian bio seems like the basis for a cool Cobra Jungle operative though.
