When looking at the Defiant entry on YoJoe.com, part of the description photos point out "hidden" mold like using the engine cover from the Snow Cat.

I've been seeing similar things on other vehicles. Today I just noticed the guns on the Stun. If you look closely, the molds within the recessed area look like a car's transmission and transfer case. I know inner seen those molds elsewhere, I just can't place my finger on it.

Where else have you seen molds repuposed like that?

They ground up a lot of stuff for tech detail. I think joemichaels went back in time to introduce that skill.

The big push button "sight" on ROC Storm Shadow's big disc launcher was used as a molded detail on either a vehicle or some other big accessory/object, and that's a fairly recent example. I'm sure someone can say exactly what that was.

Probably the strangest one I saw was on the bottom of the MASS device in the DVD set. It looks like someone made a CAD drawing of Supersonic Fighters Zap's gun, sliced it in half longways, and placed it on there.

If you open the accesss panel on the ASP, you will see the bottom of a car engine. The top of the Snowcat missile launcher is the back section of a 1/35 model tank. There are other tank bits in the bed area of the Cat. The gun on the silver mirage is the bottom of a 4 cylinder engine with a torque tube. (torque tubes house the output shaft on some European cars where the engine is in the front of the car and the transmission & differential are a single assembly in the rear. Porsche 924 and 944s were like this, also some Lancias.) Under the turret on the Iron Anvil is a bunch of wacky crap, like airplane wheels & finned motorcycle engine heads. Alot of the tools and details on the Mobat are way too small and are probably from a 1/35 tank model. The whole back of the Dreadnok cycle looks like a huge 12 cylinder engine and transmission from a mid-engine car, and then they have the exhast pipes coming out of the transmission!

Wait a minute... the big "sight" button on ROC Storm Shadow's disc launcher? It's also an embedded detail on the disc launcher itself. Take a look-

A lot of the MOBAT details are from a 1/25th Tamiya Chieftain model kit that is way out of production. The bogeys, the large vent on the back, and several other parts. The HISS tank uses bogeys from a Tamiya Russian t-32 tank model, that one is still in production, i have one in the basement. There are ton and tons of military models bits bashed all over the first few years of vehicles.

I had to google Tamiya Cheiftan. Not familiar with armor, much less British... :-| The treads are spot on for the Mobat, as well.
