Looking through the YoJoe gallery I noticed this photo:
http://toyfair2012.yojoe.com/showphoto. ... 53&cat=502And I noticed that the three-pack Snake Eyes is a pretty decent homage to the VvV Snake Eyes (the awesome one:

That's a really nice little trick on the part of Hasbro: An homage to a figure that you'd never expect to get one, snuck into a movie toy line.
It got me thinking. There are quite a few oddball figures that I'd like updates or homages to. Figures that by all rights really shouldn't be classic enough to call for that treatment, but that I want anyway. Stuff that a good designer's imagination could really crank into gear. Most of these skew to late in the ARAH line, so bear with me, but also, share yours.
1. Arctic Stalker. This guy's awesome. He has a boat. Imagine this dude redone a la Data-Viper, or PoC Snow Job. Lots of great gear, a cool kayak. Awesome scary mask. Good potential here. Upshot: remold/repaint into 1994 Stalker (black and green).
2. Payload. I really want a crazy future space guy at 1:18, and payload would be a great one to update. There just seems like lots of potential here. Heck, the 1987 original is still an awesome toy. I grew up with the shuttle, so I'm biased. Upshot: Remold/repaint into Countdown. Two birds -- one stone.
3. 1994 Desert Flint. IwBeta's amazing update needs to be copied by Hasbro. That design is cool, very Dune. I want it updated. Finally PoC Dusty would have a companion in the desert.
4. Deep-Six. Any version, but preferably a complete re-imagining of the deep-sea diver guy (rooted in his v.2 rendition with crazy heavy belt, helmet and buoy) in the PoC style, muted colors, metal paint-washes, cool looking.
5. Budo. There are a lot of ninjas in Gen 3, but no Samurai. Here's the perfect opportunity. Give us a crazy face mask this time.
6. Ninja Force Zartan. Again, I want the colors toned down, I did as a kid. But this guy was nuts. Mohawk: Check. Bow: Check. Knives stored dangerously close to your manhood: Check. The articulation sucked, but man, was this a fun take on the character. Plus: As Zartan is a man of many disguises, it seems natural he'd have a lot of "looks."
