Slangards at Hippopotami on the Lam has the first review up, with some great pics and his usual thorough write-up: http://slangards.i.ph/blogs/slangards/2 ... cle-armor/

Quote:
If I had to do it over, I probably would have passed on this purchase and just gotten one or two of the Captain America figures. While as a bike the Cycle Armor looks awesome, but I still prefer my Moto-Terminators.
Plus, I’m not sure about the price. P1000.00 is kind of pricey. I guess you could think about it like you’re getting a vehicle for the price of another 3.75″ figure, but it still doesn’t sit right.
If your just looking for an escort for your Rhino or ROCC, this thing isn’t so bad. If you were, like me, looking for an ass-kicking mechanized assualt exoskeleton, you’re "LASER BLAST" out of luck.

Pretty disappointing. He hasn't convinced me NOT to buy it, but still, I was hoping for more of a "guys, it's EVEN COOLER than it looks" instead of a "it's got all the problems you'd imagine it has..."

EDIT: Pluv, other mods - This felt more newsy than reviewy, so I posted it here.

All the issues I figured it would have, the bad mech articulation kills it for me.
If another review mirrors that, I'm gonna have to pass.

What a shame, I was looking forward to it the most too.

Wow, I hadn't kept up with anything on this since the proto in 2009, but I was really up for it until I read this, very disapointing. Easy pass for me now.

I'm sure someone will come up with a fix.

new motorcycle more accurately based off of the older Robotech bikes that works better when used as armor?

Hasbro can't really do that without getting its buttocks sued off.

Besides, I wouldn't want my Joes to be forever saddled with giant Gundam-shaped booties.

I guess I didn't understand... Where did he find it? Online, ROSS, or in regular stores?

Over all it still sounds like it would be fun to have and to have extras too. I mostly like the bike form than it being a bulky Accelerator Suit style armor.

I have to get it just for the customizability of it. Even if it is just a glorified BTR vehicle and not the great Robotech bike everyone wants.

I dunno on a customizer site, a review like this is more of a glove being thrown down!

My review isn't quite finished yet, but I guess from my perspective...the thing looks a lot better than it plays. It can get in some okay poses, and if you can get the armor to stay on, it looks cool enough. But anyone hoping to really move the figure around in Exo-Suit mode is going to be battling with pieces that fall off and substandard articulation.

On display it's neat...in motorcycle mode, it's actually pretty bad ass. But the armor suit is a little clugey, as one might suspect.

The figure is disappointing, it's just Wraith with some swapped parts and some big cylinders on the chest. The armor's not even useful for my Doom figures thanks to those giant holes. The bike armor looks... it reminds me of those Go-Bots suits to some degree plus all those goofy mechs that we saw in the late 90s Marvel lines or the recent TMNT lines.
