After seeing all of the figures besides the secret 13th figure, do you plan on getting the subscription service?

Nnnnnnnnnope. All I want is Jinx, a single figure is certainly not worth the 63$ for a Canadian membership, plus the subscription costs, plus the overpriced Canadian shipping.

Moment of truth, eh?

Okay, I said I'd wait 'til the end to see Big Boa and decide. While I think he's good, I don't think he justifies paying to join, and then paying a premium for thirteen figures when I want two of them. No.

I agree with Jay. As a Canuck, it's super-expensive to get anything shipped from the club.
While I'd like to have the figures, the cost of the subscription and shipping is way too prohibitive.

Not when some of these could have been put in a box set (Tan Grunt with other Tan figures) and the rest should have been released single card at retail.

That's the problem. These are retail figures. If they were something that was hitting the ball outta the park every time that's one thing, but I look at them and think, "they should be on the shelf..."

I was going to vote "depends on price" but the sad truth is, unless the Club lied about the upper limit, I'm pretty sure I'll subscribe.

Since I only want about half the figures, though, I hope there's some secondary market interest (and maybe even price appreciation?).

Totally depends on price, but I'm leaning towards getting it.

As for our Canadian brethren: If you are interested in getting the figures (and members here in the states can get multiple subscriptions) I'm sure some of us can help you out.

I'm getting it. Big Boa sold it for me, just as I feared/predicted/expected.

I want Jinx, but not much else. So it's a big no for me.

I enjoyed the reveals and especially liked comparing my reactions to the community consensus, but there was never a chance I subscribe. No matter what quality the figures released, these figures just did not fit my collection.

That said, I was disappointed that the FSS never met what I consider their usual level of quality. I consider this Gung Ho they released in 2005 to be the perfect example of making a high end figure out of existing tooling. That is 100 percent Mega Marines Gung Ho improved in every way by innovative paint, including that stunning urban rain camo pattern that I believe the club designed. Where I feel the FSS failed to meet my expectations is the lack of innovative paint application. They did more with a Mega Marine and three shades of grey than with access to a large library of modern tooling that was designed for versatile reconfiguration. And that isn't just the FSS. It feels like since the club switch to the modern style that their main design goal has been to recreate rather than innovate. In their defense, Jinx is the most innovative design in the line and some collectors point her out as a low point because of it. On the other hand, Big Boa recreates the vintage figure, but they didn't stop there. His accessories are new and clever and enhance the original concept. He may be the only figure I can say was so successful in that respect.

Like I said, I'm not the FSS' audience. Appeasing me would not have made the Club any more money.

I was pretty much ready to go with at least one subscription from the moment it was announced in the Club roundtable, barring a ludicrously bad lineup or a ludicrously expensive price (while I would prefer much less than $25 plus shipping per figure, I don't think it is "ludicrous").

While I feel that there were probably some better character choices that could have been made, I'm ok with what we have. Without the Club having the budget and ability to create many new figure parts, I honestly don't know what lineup they could have given us that would have seriously impressed everyone. It's true that some of these figures are easy to customize, but as someone who doesn't get a lot of free time to focus on customizing, I'm fine with getting a figure like Quarrel that I could otherwise make myself. I read the "virtual customizing" thread where people came up with ideas for their own subscription lineup, and while I thought there were a lot of good ideas, I actually feel more excited about what the Club is giving us.

You know what else? There's no Duke, Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Destro, or Storm Shadow in sight. Out of all the characters in the lineup, only Grunt has had a figure in the 25th-on era (I don't count ROC Cover Girl for hopefully obvious reasons). If my interest in collecting new figures is to be maintained, I need to see more characters that haven't been done multiple times over.

Are the figures worth $25 each plus shipping plus the Club membership price? If these were regular retail releases, definitely not. But, these aren't regular retail releases. I can give the Club leeway in the pricing because I know there is simply no way for them to produce enough figures to drive down the costs, not to mention the cost of more detailed paint apps. I hope the price is less, but I'm prepared to pay around that much to support the idea. The Club membership price doesn't factor in for me since I already get the membership for the convention. I also realize that I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford that, and I'm not criticizing people who don't want to pay that price for the figures. However, if the membership price is all that stops you, I'm sure there may be some people who are already in the Club that might be willing to help. :whistling:

To be honest, if there is any Joe retail presence after the movie line is done (and I feel less confident by the day about the chances), I'm sure it will be some iteration with the core characters rehashed/reimagined, possibly based on whatever new animated series Hasbro airs on the Hub and cancels after 5 episodes. I'm also sure that the figure cost will go up again with the Retaliation line, just like it did with ROC - we've already seen the 30th figures almost universally get less accessories and less new tooling than was originally shown. Again, I'm not excited about that prospect, especially when we've gotten some really good versions of the core characters that would be extremely difficult to top.

So .... yeah, I support it and plan on getting a subscription.

Over all each figure is ok with 6 of them being figures I do like a fair amount. I am on the fence about getting it. It all depends on the price. Even if it's a little high I still might reluctantly buy into it. It just really depends on how much it'll be.

Im in.

I suspect completionists will be kicking themselves in the very near future for not grabbing them when they came out.

5 years from now when this line inevitably ends, people will be killing for these limited figures.
