this guy has an interesting assortment of ARAH cobra troopers, and they seem plentiful too. Where the heck is he getting these from?

I had seen the black ones and red ones, but where are these different camo schemes coming from?

They seem to be customs. Really, really nice customs.

Thanks. Wasn't sure on the proper terminology.

Still I got it half-right. ;-)

Just click one of his auctions, for example:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Gi-joe-Cobra-Soldie ... 3357d8e566

Scroll halfway down, there he is (was) in the middle.

Check out the youtube vids at the bottom. The one on the left is a display of the red shadows, the one on the right is a display of the jungle troopers.

I'm not trying to shill for this guy, but the black friday troop builder lots aren't priced too bad. I'm eyeing the urban camo one's myself. I'd have bought without a second thought if I hadn't got a speeding ticket the other day, now I'm tempted but will probably have to pass.

Edit:uhwhups, all the black friday prices ended. He had them 5 for $60 and $10 apiece, now they're back up to 15 apiece.

Those are...AWESOME! 8-O

Hasbro could learn a thing or 2 from these guys. I suppose the price is not too bad, considering they are coming from the other side of the world.

Why, oh why did they retire the jungle trooper??? I would think that would be their best seller! Time to shop for some Christmas presents... for myself! :cobratrooper: :cobratrooper: :cobratrooper: :cobratrooper: :cobratrooper:

Hmmmm, actually it looks like he is based here in the USA. Where and how is he getting them in such quantity?

Based on what I saw of his postings on forums, he's pretty cryptic (if even that) about the origins of these.

There was another seller with different factory custom bootlegs (yojoe.com had a long thread about these), some similar in theme but not the same paint schemes (the desert trooper and black trooper are noticably different), but I can't find any on ebay currently.

Interesting. Man, I would LOVE to get into the factory-made bootleg business! Can you imagine, repainting all those figs that had cool sculpts, but awful colors? (Skidmark, OG Gung-Ho, Firefly 2, Alley-Viper, Gristle, etc.) I bet there would be a market for that. I would buy the heck out of them!

They are top notch figures and the Jungle Camo figures are great. I have a bunch of them. Actually would be willing to trade some for some of the newer camo versions. If you wanna buy the new ones and trade for some of my jungle ones.... let me know.
