So, I decided to army-build the Crimson Neo Vipers. Once I opened them, I decided I liked them best. They're pretty hard to find, but Neo-Viper (Pit Attack) - (my second preference among the movie Vipers) seems to be everywhere. I haven't seen any of the Viper Commandos (Desert Ambush), although I've seen other Joes from that case.

Here's my question: Are people army-building the Viper Commando over the Neo-Viper? Or have I just been seeing more of the first case assortment around? Which ROC Vipers are you army-building? Do you have a preference rank among them?

My next question is about the Nano-Viper case assortment. Right now they are shipping with the Dr. and SS variants. Do you think they all going to have roughly the same scarcity? (Variants as common as Charbroil, Night Adder, Kamakura, Red Fang, Neo? -- or all rare...?)

I put off getting this wave because I suspect they will be all over the place in the future, but who knows, right?

I personally have bought more Viper Commandos than the standard Neo-Viper, but I haven't heard of any widespread preference for either figure. I would guess that the Viper Commando was only available in one case assortment, whereas the Neo-Viper has probably been in multiple case assortments (and doesn't seem to be selling particularly well).

I think I'm sitting at 3 Viper Commandos, 2 Elite Vipers, 3 Eels, 4 Neo-Vipers, 2 Crimson Neo-Vipers, 1 Para-Viper, 3 Ice-Vipers, and 1 Nano-Viper. Of those I'll probably get 1 more each of the Nano-Viper and Para-Viper, then call it at that. I don't formally army build but I like having a nice little army to set up when I want to.

I've got about 4 or 5 Zartan figures so I can have a decent MP group for G.I.Joe and I have 5 Pit Commandos too. I want 1 more set from Toys R Us so I can have 2 Grunt figures which I'll use as green camo "faceless/nameless" figures.

That's also not including the upcoming releases of other "army builders".

I'm an avid army builder, but I only have 2 crimson. 5 each of viper and viper commando, 3 eels I bought before I realized that I don't really like the ROC eels, and have yet to see ROC Para vipers.. The only ones I'm really interested in building in the heinous amounts I normally do are Ice Vipers and elite vipers. Got a stack of desert dukes to do the desert platoon thing, and a stack of cover girls to do chicks with.. I don't know about anywhere else, but the shelves around here are CLOGGED with figures from the first two waves, which makes me worry about enough sell through to see later waves.

I'm only planning to army build Elite Vipers, and that's only to use them as Black Dragons. I do have 5 Ice-Vipers, which I intend to use as is. Right now I don't have a good use for any of the other movie Vipers but I do like the looks of the upcoming desert viper. The color scheme of the Crimson Viper looks nice, but too regal for my taste, and the Commando and Viper just don't do much for me. I don't like the Nano-Viper at all. Plus the gear they come with (excepting the Crimson Viper) doesn't do much for me, so I've even less interest in multiples. I may get some more of each, but only if I can come up with a good use for them.

Honestly, these figures are getting too expensive to army build and I only buy 2 at the most of each. I consider the Crimson Vipers elite guards and my favorite trooper is probably the Elite Viper. I'm hoping they release the MARS troopers on single cards. But as far as building enormous amounts of one trooper, I can't justify it. Space, money and other priorities take precedence. Plus, I'd rather have more characters than just a bunch of one guy.

They are pricey. I got some Crimson Vipers off ebay for below retail and the other ones at the 2 for 10 TRU sale, otherwise I would not be army-building.

For me it's an either or, that's why I'm curious how others approach the vast amount of product being thrown at us. I was thinking I'd get a squad of the Neo-Vipers but once I got the Crimson Vipers in hand, I decided they appealed more and could be more versatile in my Joeverse (same reason I like 94 Vipers).

I don't think I'm into the Viper Commandos, but I didn't think I was into the Gunship either until I saw the cool movie scenes, so I guess I'm a sucker.

I left a couple of Ice Vipers hanging on the pegs for someone else. I wanted to say yes, but my wallet said, "Crikey." I think I can avoid those.

I got a couple of Elite-Vipers, and they are awesome, but I'm hoping I'll be able to pass on too much army-building beyond that. Did bite on 4 Pit Commandos for the gear. Otherwise, I'll see how long it is before I decide I need some reactive armor and accelerator suits for my Joes.

I'm working on building a squad of the Ice Vipers and I'm considering perhaps building a squad of Desert Vipers.

Between the price, not being too crazy over the look, stuff to still track down from earlier in the year, and far to many Joes to customize into the Movie Universe I just don't see me army building very hard for the Rise of Cobra.

Plus the Movie Joes don't look that bad fighting the squads I built from the 25th figures so that also slows down the need to build new squads right now. Of course who knows when the next got to have it squad figure will come out.

These figures are too expensive to army build. Yet, some of them are too cool to be okay with that. I really want more Elite Vipers and Ice Vipers, but I probably will never buy them. I'm hoping to pick up one of the packs that has an Elite Viper in it, though, even if the paint scheme is a little different.

I have 3 of each army builder that's been released. That's my minimum quantity for any army builder. I'd like more but $$$ is a big concern right now.

I can't say I have a preference for Elite Vipers or Neo-Vipers over one another. I wonder if the 30 Neo-Viper redecos coming out have anything to do with it?

So far I can't get into army building any of the RoC troopers. I don't care for the designs enough. I may get 2 or 3 more of the Elite-Viper, but thats about it. Hopefully the MARS troops come out on card, I'll get some of them. I haven't even seen that pack anywhere though.

After reading your post I went and ordered. I needed the Night Adder, Kamakura, Red Fang, and Accelerator Suit Duke. I dropped in another Rex to see if I get a white coat one. I screwed up and ordered 2 Night Adders though and I meant to order a Nano-Viper. Guess I can send him back when I get it for a refund... I guess it would be asking too much to hope they send one with the black tattoos, hehe...
