Okay, I received my G.I.Joe Club Newsletter in the mail today, and after *ahem* reading the article on the back page of the History of the Range-Vipers written by *ahem* someone we all know... :-D , I turned to check out the forthcoming vehicles from the "Rise of Cobra" line. First time I've really had a good look at them (for whatever reason, I never entirely trust Internet pictures).

Tiger Claw ATV - VERY nice. It's such an extensive overhaul of the Ferret/Snake Trax that I barely recognized it.

Polar Sharc Submarine - OH, yes, that's a nice design.

Desert Rockslide - Um, okay, well, it's interesting. Maybe it was photographed at a weird angle?

Crimson Hydra - Okay, the name's a little silly, but I happen to have liked the black version of this plane, and it doesn't look bad in red. Maybe assign it to the Crimson Guards if I get it.

Dragon Hawk XH-1 Helicopter - Okay, this is driving me nuts. This can't be an entirely new design, can it? I mean. I love the design, but it's not completely new, is it? And yet I don't think I quite recognize it.

I'm starting to wish I'd paid better attention to the vehicles during the newsculpt era. Nevertheless -- well, there goes the budget.

I'd be careful. The red painted on the cockpit window is actually very very pink and doesn't match the rest of the jet at all.

Completely new design.

With very few exceptions (Various Hummers) you really didn't miss much.

What about the RHINO and the DTC HISS?

HISS was great.

Ice sabre was alright....

RHINO and ROCC has great potential, but overall just didnt 'feel' right. Too 'chunky' and just dont seem to fit in with RAH style stuff I feel.

I figure a good portion of the "best of the best" will get a re-release anyway during the current push.

We're already getting rereleases of the RHINO, Sting Raider and Ice Sabre... Night Ops Humvee seems unlikely given the presence of the Steel Crusher....

I wouldn't mind seeing the ROCC reissued as a Cobra mobile Firebat launch base, but that's very unlikely.

I wonder if they can reissue the Piranha boat in any way...

I like the Tiger Claw ATV, too. I think there would be more positive talk about it if there wasn't already a reissue of the Ferret on the shelves right now. The changes are so much so, that they're completely different. I can't wait to get it. Not wild about the Leatherneck it comes with, though.

Really? I always thought there was so little positive talk about it because it adds a LOT of bulk to an already very large "light" vehicle.

Thats because they weren't. they were Sigma Six vehicles (from the cartoon) shrank down to 33/4th size (like Jinx and the bats)

No, they were planned for Robot Rebellion and the designs got carried over to Sigma Six and DTC.

Personally I'm about done buying vehicles. Sure there are some cool designs coming, but a lot of it is recycled stuff that just takes up more space than I can spare. Plus cash is tight right now, way too tight to drop on vehicles.

The problem with that attitude is that for someone as OCD as me about being a completist and getting 3 or more of every army builder, that becomes a huge pain with the drivers. I'm already experiencing that with the Strato-Vipers and Motor Vipers with the big ROC vehicles

after seeing all the vehicles so far, and seeing everything from SDCC, its gonna be easy, I'm gonna pick up that re-tooled firebat, and thats it.

Unless they shock me at Joecon with future vehicles, its gonna be an easy year.

Yeah they've out for about 2 weeks here now. I buckled and got them. The Dragonhawk is really neat and reminds me of what they were trying to draw in the Devils Due comic for a helicopter. It is a little too small though. That's the 1 thing that kills it. It needed to have been bigger and double seated.

One thing I'm noticing on these "new" vehicles. Some of them anyway. They have a 2008 copyright on them. So how much of this was going to be 25th stuff and just got revamped into the movie?
