This figure is a modern bootleg that originally sold for less than $10 from China. There are collectors with dozens of this figure in their collection. Now someone just bought one off of ebay thinking it is a 1985 prototype. If anyone knows the buyer, then they need to let him know that he was ripped off.

Yeah, that's a bootleg. The chinese sellers were selling them at the Canadian Joe Con in May for $20 each.

You have ebay to thank for that type of stuff. They started to block user names, because of all the third party selling that when one be hide there backs. Now you can't even contact the buy to let them now of stuff like this.

From what I have heard, the quality is exellent. As for the winner, he posted on yojoe that he knew it was a bootleg. He just wanted it that badly. So he is happy and that is all that matters. I figured the guy got it because it was an unknown prototype. That was what pissed me off. The seller putting that misinformation out there and it becoming fact.

Never mind. Average Joe was not the winner of that auction. I miss understood him. So, the winner may still not know that it is a modern bootleg and not a possible prototype.

Were the last two or three points on the auction listing added AFTER it sold? Looking at it now, it seems the listing prewarns the buyer that it is almost certainly a bootleg.

The first time I saw that auction it had a BIN of $850 and point number 10 was not on there.
When I saw that it sold, I did not reread the auction text.

Very nice, essentially production quality. I snagged a crimson one & black one at JoeCanuck. Dude told me his cousin got them at the factory he works at in China.
