OK got a email from Bad Cat Toy CO and in it they are saying that 21st Century closed thier company anyways here's part of the letter.

In other news, as mentioned last week, JSI has purchased many of the old 21st Century toolings. 21st which has liquidated everything and is out of the picture, had lots invested in these toolings. JSI was the muscle behind 21st's production as they owned the factories where the planes and tanks were produced. Now JSI will use these same toolings, updated with several improvements to produce new products for us. Preorders are up for the 1:18 P-38 Lightning Putt Putt Maru, Tiger I, and Pappy's Corsair. Development is currently beginning for an F-14 Tomcat! Stay tuned.

The main reason for posting it was the 1:18th Tomcat in developement with the company. http://www.badcataviation.com/ is the sites main addy if anyone wants to check them out.

Yeah it's good that JSI took over.
They are also making a SU-27 & F-15.
This site has pics of the plane prototypes...

We're gonna need a bigger boat.

Couldn't resist the quote, sorry! :whistling:

Good quote. SHEESH, this is going to be huge. I think I remember reading somewhere that the SkyStriker was about 60% full scale, with a slightly enlarged cockpit or some such. WHOA.

(Not that I'm complaining about the SkyStriker)

The price alone keeps me from getting these. They do look nice but I wouldn't pay those prices.

Anyone know if they cockpit on the "1:18 JSI P-38J Lightning Putt Putt Maru, Chuck MacDonald JSI-60001" can fit a Joe? I wouldn't mind owning one of those. The Tomcat's nice, but it doesn't really thrill me.

8-O *faints*

I'd write these guys a check right now for all three. :-) Although, the initial choices for the paint schemes on the F15 and Su27 won't lend themselves to good sales, IMO. US and Russian/Soviet schemes would move product better.

*thinks* Seems like JSI would have led off with making the unreleased 21st King Tiger and hard-to-come-by Flak 36, too. I mean, why re-issue the Tiger I yet again? :-/ But as usual, better the product we're getting than no product at all. And while it’s not on their plate right now, I wonder if they’ll end up bringing other “almost-but-not-quite” 1:18 planes from 21st to market...like the MiG-21, F-4 Phantom, B-25 Mitchell, and A-10 Warthog.

Now, JSI, if you're listening... *ahem*

1:18 scale Mi-24 Hind in Late Cold War Soviet livery PLEASE!!!!!

Thank you. :-D

The Skystriker is somewhere between 1:32 and 1:35 scale, with the cockpit area cleared out to fit our beloved 1:18 Joes.

It might. It's one of the earlier 21st molds, and the pilots for them were on the small side. You can probably forget putting anyone with a sheathe or holster in there.

Those schemes will do fine. Maybe not here, but they'll do alright. America isn't the only market in the world, and i assure you that 2-seat Flanker is almost certainly aimed at the Chinese market.

The FlaK 36 wasn't hard to find. Monkey Depot blew them out for less than 30 bucks for a couple of weeks, and it's still available for less than retail.

The MiG-21, B-25 and F-4 were all "LASER BLAST" talk by 21st, they didn't exist in any form, well the F-4 "prototype"
was a model kit they had built at the last minute to block Admiral when they announced theirs. Blame 21st for not having one of those.

I agree on the Hind. Soviet desert camo.

That still doesn't explain how they dropped the ball on the A-10. They had a working model built and ready to go and the plans just *poof!* and they were like, :hasbronerd: "What A-10?"

Since then, Hasbro has released an updated Rattler and Tiger Rat, Chap Mei released their version, PTE released theirs, and now Playmates has their "micro" version. All of them seemed/seem to be selling ok.

I got the feeling that 21st just didn't like modern armor, jets, and helicopters. Maybe there is not enough money in it and that is why. I mean they'd have to pay for licensing and hit just the right market. Not too many people will drop $200 on a jet the size of a table.

That or they couldn't match what BBi was doing at the time. Which is a shame b/c 21st made some ok helicopters... just wish they'd made more of them.

Oh the A-10 is rumoured for next year. ;)
