Yep I got mine yesterday too. I'm not too excited about the mask though. It's tight and just putting it on one time got a slight stress mark on the side. The fish is very rubbery too. Almost feels like bait.

That Undertow mask was ALWAYS a too-tight fit, even when the figure was first released in 1990. As such time as I receive mine, I suspect I'll just leave it off.

Very definitely looking forward to receiving mine, though! :-D :-D :-D

I can't wait to get mine! This is one repaint that makes sense.

Shame to hear about the mask though. The old ones weren't like that. Is it a stiffer material? I might hit it with a hair dryer before I slip it on.

And I'm now tempted to run a hook through the fish and see if I can catch anything with it :)

Yeah the mask feels more towards "plastic" than "rubber" as the old one was a little more flexible. If I were to have several of these I'd even go as far as thinking about casting some out of rubber rather than worrying about these. The hairdryer idea will probably work fine. They should have made it out of the same material as the fish.

The baracuda appears to be a match to the original - but I don't have am original handy for a side by side.

He's a silver/grey color. I don't remember the original being as rubbery, but I haven't seen that figure in a good 10 years. Yep my original is packed up in an area I haven't even looked at in a while.

As I recall, the original Undertow "fish" was fairly rubbery, although I may be thinking of the one that came with the 1992-93 Cobra Eel.

And the original mask -- okay, it may have been more rubbery than the new one (I don't have mine yet, so I don't know  ), but the original one -- first time I tried to use it on the figure, one of the straps just plain SNAPPED. If the problem this time is "stress lines", I call that something of an improvement. ;-)

That happened to mine from 2000 Firefly two-pack. Just snapped right away. Hard to believe it's even worse this time around.

Anyone who doesn't want their Undertow, please think of me before you put it on eBay.

The 92 Eel came with a hard plastic spring-loaded shark.

The only other fig I remember that came with the barracuda was SF Movie edition Navy Seal Guile

So for the past 7 years, the club has used new sculpts for the club member figures and vintage sculpts for the convention sets.

This year they use 25th sculpts for the convention set and classic sculpt for the mail away.

First year I am going to enjoy the club figures more than I am the convention figures. I can't wait to get mine.

That's right -- I must've suppressed the memory...

Barracudas are pretty bad ass. They take a chunk out of your side just as quick as a shark, yet in more shallow water. I could see baracudas not as pets but as guard dogs in the waters surrounding Cobra Island.
