I was talking to another board member and it's getting to the point where Hasbro just doesn't get it. As a collector, I am sick of hunting down toys. I am sick of having 1 figure in a case of pegwarmes and then hearing them blame the retail store for not putting out the new goods. It seems that they don't care and want to see how much they can make us run around like idiots finding things.
I agree 100%, Look at November and the rush of 5 waves in a month, what the hell was up with that, no store orders that frequently unless its online. No wonder half the waves didn't reach retail on that one. Also if its the "reatilers fault" why give them refresher waves of figures they didn't want to order in the first place? I mean they aren't ordering the current waves now if we listen to "Big H" (The other lie that got to me long ago is how retailers "force" them to put out so many waves and an abundance of repaints each year, while companies like Ban Dai and others get loads more shelf space and only have a wave a year, Look at the Ben 10 and Power Rangers for a while and you see this).
I rembember in the JVC days we would give Hasbro hell, and they would brush us off saying "these aren't made for you anyway." After a while it seemed they started listening but it was too late cause they alienated the fans. When 25th hit it seemed the voices of diverse opinion were silenced for various reasons, and now most of those guys have left GI Joe altogether. Even the few that are left are remaining silent just cause after 7 years of trying to say what we feel and being called "negitive" well it wears on you.
But that is all beside the point, what is really troubling is the shear glut of product showing up on auction sites, and its very troubling when you realize most are scaling back due to costs, boredom, and lack of variety (which are trends that seem to still be in full force for the movie line).
