Actually, version two isn't my personal favorite. Oh, the basic design was good, and of course that visor has become pretty iconic, but there were two flaws with the figure in my opinion. First off, you could sort of see a mouth under the mask. I was able to correct this on mind with some modeling putty. Secondly, something about the figure looked just a little paunchy. Neither of these worked especially well for someone like Snake-Eyes. The third version, 1989, wasn't bad, but I thought the head was a little too narrow. However, its 2000-era color scheme, replacing the silver trim with metallic blue, is excellent, even if the red-white-and-blue G.I.Joe logo down one leg is a little much. The fourth version, 1991, was superb in design, even though it was off in color. I didn't like the blue and light grey. I customized a black one (using the body mold as it came in black for the Street Fighter movie line) and painting a head black, and it's excellent. So I'd have to say that 1989 and 1991 come closer to being personal favorites for me than 1985. My LEAST favorite is easy -- 1993 Ninja Force and its 1994 Shadow Ninjas counterpart. I never liked the spring-action feature in these figures, since it often interfered with the articulation of the figure, and it certainly does on Snake-Eyes, and the overall design of the figure makes it look like his arms are coming out about a third of the way down his torso, rather than at the shoulders. |

Growing up my most played with Snake Eyes was 1993's Version 3. I thought he was a great mix of commando/ninja warrior. I loved his sword which was the focus on many play time battles. He was one of the few figures I'd bought a back for in case my main one got broken. I gave 1991's Version 4 a lot play time but I never liked his colors and I hated his NEON orange weapons. My favorite would be my newest Snake Eyes 2009's Version 41. He has all the visuals I love about Snake Eyes and incredible articulation. My least favorite Snake Eyes along with most of the figures that came out in 2002 is Version 10. Snake Eyes is all bulked up. He's forced to stand in that goofy stance. He quickly came off the display shelf and into a fodder box. The one positive thing I can say about him and the figures coming out that point was I could put any size weapon in there hands without fear of breaking their thumbs. I really like the new plastic they are using on figures now. |

ARAH: I loved the 91 version with the sky mask/goggles in the blue, black and grey color scheme. I used that figure so much when I was little because it was a handful that survived my brother's evil destruction. JvC/VvV: The visored commando look that came with Timber and packed with the green Swamp Rat. Absolutely amazing figure. One of the best figures in that era. The weapons are great, the figure mold is great and it has great play value. 25th: The re-imagined 89 figure. This figure gets clearanced for less than five dollars sometimes on online sites. This blows my mind. The knives on the chest, the strap hanging off his shoulder to hang his gun, just perfect. Overall, I would have to go with the 91 commando version. Despite the pink accessories, it's a great figure. My least favorite is much more simple to narrow down: the comic pack arctic version. |

I really dig the '91 version, which seems to be a fav around here. My favorite though is the new five pack version. I love the articulation and the simplicity of the figure. |

I've never been a connoisseur of the mythical ninja, but I recall that both for V19 and V24 which are the same mold, I kept him out and around in the living room and office longer than any other Snake Eyes I've purchsed in recent memory. I know its not the best sculpting nor most representative mold, but something about that mold and accessories had the right level of badass to me. |

I'd have to say V2 is my favorite. first one I had of him. I did get the 89 and 91 versions, and used them as upgrades when they came out and retired the figure from playing as a kid. I always let them keep using Timber. I will add that the 89 version probably got the most playtime though, since the gap from 85-89 was so long I didn't use my V2 that much because I was scared I would break him and he was nowhere to be found in stores. The 89 version had the best gear of all of them I thought. |

v4 is my favorite because it was the first Joe I bought myself The T-crotch new sculpts are plain awful I also don't like any of the many repaints of the ones from '97 since it's confusing to tell which is which (but with so many versions, it doesn't matter) OT: That should be a Convention trivia question -- to ID every Snake Eyes figure by version #

I'd also have to go with the Ninja Force version as being my least fav. Favorite, as far as just being my default version Snakes, is 25th commando version. The grey color scheme from the first 5-pack would be rockin' on a fixed crotch version, but the black will do. |
