Since others are worried about spoilers for those who are deliberately NOT watching these and yet still reading threads ABOUT them, I hereby proclaim that this thread will indeed have spoilers.

Without tags.

You have been warned.

So there.

I could talk a lot about the deaths, of course... and I'm really wondering about that first one. How does the Major tie into all this? Why? And at the Lincoln Memorial of all places?

But I want to talk about Cobra Commander. Dang. THAT'S the maniacal evil terrorist leader I want to see.

Even though the plot is your basic Cobra-discovers-new-technological-terror-and-holds-the-world-hostage, it's taken it up quite a step. The casualty count is unreal (even with the computer screen behind Duke misspelling "casualties"... spell check, people!).

And Snake-Eyes is the scary bad boy we've always wanted to see.

Just saw 1 and 2.
Some dissapointing things actually.

The Good:
Animation. Flippin sweet.
Death. Always an easy attention grabber to provide drama and add a serious element to the story.
Character recognizability. Some familiar faces.
Character Uniqueness. Some nice twists to some already known guys to give htem more of an edge. Primarily 1 joe and 1 cobra.

The Bad:
Horrible dialogue, especially in a few places, and no there is no more "its a kids cartoon" anymore. Yea it may be ironed out but at points it sounded just like, well read on for point two,
terrible voice acting. Especially by a few characters. It sounded, well like the sort of stuff you hear from video game actors. I'm not saying I could do better, or that this is all that easy, but the dialogue does not sound inspiring at all. Simply overplayed attempts and emphasis.

I am so glad Snake Eyes is a mute character, who can't be ruined by this so far apparent flaw. I like the tone of Cobra Commander's voice better than the squeaky old school one (though that was fun too) but if the dialogue is meh, it doesn't matter how nice the voice that says it is.

Lastly, the major plot point so far was just, in a word, idiotic.

That said, my hope is the plot isn't oriented around that, and leads somewhere so i will reserve judgement once more info is available.

So far there are some things they need to work on and i hope they do and make the cartoon better.

Alright checked out part 3.

I know it may seem like i'm being really critical but i want this thing to be so awesome that if i were to send to a person who has no interest in joes it would make him go, "wow that is kinda really cool," not "what? why?" which is what is happening so far IMHO.

I think I like this more than the American Elite ending storyline. I want this to become a regular 30 minute weekly show.

One of us Canadians were sent uploaded videos just after it aired - before it was on youtube.... :shifty:

And DAMN.

Major Bludd - DEAD
Bazooka - DEAD

I love how they touched on the relationship Scarlett had with Duke in the Cartoon, and Snake Eyes in the comic - they kinda "merged" the two together by giving her the choice of who to stay with, when she corrects Duke about "the team"

Cobra Soldiers killed by Snake Eyes so far - 5
Maybe 6 - not sure if the one hanging was one of the first two or not.

I like the site and password thing they're doing.
I cracked one... it wasn't that hard.
HINTON - Roadblock

Overall, amazing. If Hasbro doesn't make this an actual cartoon in the future, then they need to give their head a shake. 3 Episodes, and I'm hooked on this thing already!

I think Flint is already dead and Flint is really Zartan is Disguise. Cause that one crappy voice for flint.

Hmm Bazooka and Major Bludd both dead. Reason for Bazooka death seem clear but what about Bludd? What is the connection? They are both men with Mustaches. I think the Sailor is Next, followed by the Cowboy.

except for everyone having Laryngitus (sp) its a pretty good cartoon. Nitty gritty drama. I mean it doesn't insult your intelligence like so many other cartoons - and lets face it - it's the best thing currently running on Adult Swim.

So is the guy with the baby blue kevlar vest supposed to be Airborne? He;s the only one I couldn't positively identify.

Oh, and I like how they aged Doc.

Somebody asked why Major Blood died at the Lincoln Memorial? It could be symbolic, but it could also just be because its a common visage for scenes where the transfer of secrets take place. Check - every single federal spying movie ever made. It's an iconic and at night - open and barren - place - perfect for secret meetings and drops.

money as a means through power? come on now. This is supposed to be adult oriented right? What's the point of a huge ransom demand Austin Powers style when everyone knows you have it? If Die Hard taught us anything large sums of money are not as valuable unless you can hide them, and if you are resorting to those means you are not really a world dominating organization but a petty criminal. It just makes Cobra seem two-bit rather than the evil power I would personally expect

Go listen again. He says he realized that power GIVES the money. So he's not asking for money as a demand any more; he's asking for power.

In other words:

"I realized that only idiots like in the old cartoon ask for huge sums of money when they have the world held hostage, so I'm not asking for that. I'm asking for total control!"

I'm loving the animation, but I'm wondering how it's going to look when it's all together in one piece. The swooping shots around the Flagg are going to be redundant. Other than that, I'm totally digging it.

Two huge characters dead in the first five minutes; ten million plus dead in Moscow. These cat's aren't effin' around.
