Interesting. Looks like Hasbro is going to be taking a 50% stake in the Discovery Kids Network (I'm not even sure I get that on my Basic Cable lineup).
Hasbro says they'll be developing new programming based around a lot of their established properties, of which G.I.Joe and Transformers are two of the ones listed.
Personally, I'd be just as happy to see some of the older incarnations brought back for re-airing. There's no shortage of existing material out there, between G.I.Joe, CERTAINLY Transformers, and numerous other Hasbro properties of the 1980's and 1990's. And if they have access to former Kenner properties, or Tonka properties -- well, it wouldn't make me terribly upset to see M.A.S.K. and Spiral Zone back on the air!
My biggest concern is I wonder how much say Discovery will have as far as the nature of the programming. G.I.Joe and Transformers aren't exactly the most PC, eco-friendly, "educational" programs around. Can Joe get along with Bindi?
