Found wave 3 today at Target -- here's a quickie review: First off - Iron Man. I'm just go ahead and call this one perfect. It's the iconic armor and the size & sculpt are just plain fantastic. THIS is my default Iron Man for all eternity. Much like Robert Downey, Jr, this wipes away years of Tony being a total douchebag. I LIKE Iron Man again because of this figure. Who'd a thunk it? -- Now if they can make a "Silver Centurion" suit with as much attention to detail. (for size comparison - Punny is made out of a 25A Roadblock fig.) ![]() Ms Marvel was one I'd been waiting for -- a solid female sculpt for customs, and an interesting character in her own right. The sculpt is great, with only two real complaints -- the waist is a little loose, so she flops around a bit, and most of all - she doesn't have swivel elbows/biceps ![]() --Expect to see a new Wonder Woman custom from me in a couple of days I was on the fence about the Thing - only because I already have one with that look (an MLS Custom). I'll be honest - the MLS figs have a better sculpt and more articulation. The MU fig looks a lot more cartoon-ish, too. For me, though - MLS figs keep popping off at the joints, and I'm tired of fixing them. Also, the MU figures are VASTLY more sturdy than the MLS figs - this guy is solid and will hold up to hard play. So add that to the fact that his pants match the MU FF guys better than my custom paint job, and he wins for me - but just barely. I'll likely customize this guy and use MU legs on the MLS body. If you're happy with your MLS Thing as-is, I'd pass on the MU version. ![]() Finally is a figure I've been waiting for for more than 20 years - black-suit Spidey. I had the Secret Wars fig in the 80s, I tried (and failed) to like the MLS version but it kept breaking. I made a Microman custom version but I suck at detail painting. This version is as close to perfect as you're going to get, IMO. The only thing I can find to critique is that he's a tad too tall - but he's going to be crouching all the time anyway, so that doesn't matter to me. ![]() Passed on the Punisher because I've got a better one So happy hunting everyone! Oh, and I also found the new SW battle packs (Yavin Hangar, Toon Jabba, etc) at Target, too - passed because I ran out of $$$. But they're out there. Cheers! |

Definately gotta get that Classic IM and Ms. Marvel. The rest are an easy pass for me. Thanks for the time you put into this review Chief. It was very informative and helpful. |

Dang. I was really looking forward to Ms. Marvel, for a good female kitbash base. The lack of upper arm rotation kills it for me. Hasbro really needs to promote cross comunication between their development teams. No way Ms. Marvel's arms are any thinner than five pack Baroness's arms. |

I  Chief. Thanks for these reviews Dan. I don't care about the arms on those Ms. Marvel figs, as I think I can joint swap as need be to fix those problems. I'm not collecting these MU figs to be themselves anyway, but exclusively for custom fodder. I love the pic of these next to LJ, because I was worried they'd tower over the Joe fems, and be less useful to me. From what I see here, I'll be snagging as many as I can get my hands on (whether in store, or from helpful friends... hint )The other figs look good too, but I'll tell you man, your customs really shine in those comp pics. Your Punisher (we already knew he dominated the MU Punisher) also looks like he fits in 110% next to the other Marvel Figs, though he's much more realistic in appearance also. Ditto your Thing fig as compared to the new one, but I understand why you like the MU construction more. Maybe you can do a head swap and a touch up to make the new one have the same feel as the old one. |

Gotta agree with you on Iron Man, Chief. I just picked it up today and it's phenomenal. I bought the "modern" armor IM, which I also liked. So... I guess I'm going to snag the Stealth Suit IM (they did make one, right?). |

Nice classic IM & Ms Marvel`s looks great.Black Spidy is a Must have tho with a drop in height. I`m still rooting for Hasbro to do Movie IM in this scale tho. |

I was kinda curious about getting black Spidey but it looks like he's got too much of that blue shading they used on the first Punisher. And that's something I just don't like. I could paint over it but I don't think it's worth it. Thanks for the pics and your thoughts on these Chief. Definitely helps the rest of us make more informed decisions. |
