My middle son is really getting into Joes and my brother-in-law loaned him a big box of stuff including the Night Raven (Dad's collection apparently was too Joe heavy for my boy). The Raven is in poor shape, but the landing gear is all there and operational. The problem is that once you put it down, it doesn't want to go back up. I'm afraid to force it and break anything. Anybody know of a trick or is there some latch I'm missing? It is the straight slot version without the locking notch. YoJoe didn't show anything that I could see.

Any help is appreciated.

David

I've got the same problem with mine -- try pushing up (in) on the lever while you're pulling it back - it works for mine. Still a little stiff, but doesn't feel like it's going to break when I push in on it.

Your concern actually inspired me to bring my Night Raven down from its high shelf -- and holy cow, did it ever need a good dusting. 8-O

Once that was taken care of, I checked the landing gear. It's in good shape and works without problem, but there does seem to be a slight "catch" before it will actually fully retract or extend. I am of the opinion that this was simply a characteristic of the original design, one that might have possibly worsened in some planes over the years.

Don't know if that's of any help to you.

It sounds like you might not be in the slots...make sure the end of landing gear is contained in the rectangular slot of that large red internal sliding peice.

Also are the landing gear covers there? they can get in the way....

Thanks for the tips guys. It's actually fun getting more familiar with a toy I have been wanting for several years.

I'll check the grooves and try the push and slide.

Thanks again
