Because it was conceived as an Internet series. The episodes were written and animated to be short, 5-minute installments.

Cartoon Network obviously felt there was an audience for the entire 60 minute show, but not until at least most of the series had been released online.

pretty cool...I don't have adult swim though but will check them out online, hopefully they'll release it to dvd soon though
