Two sets would be good, as long as we got Shooter from the DDP GI JOE Declassified series.

I'm all for it but they need to fix some of the "issues" with the already released figures

Short-fuse - give him a non-glasses face, correct webgear, and a backpack. And lower legs that fit better.
Breaker - bearded face, correct backpack and headset, make sleeves rolled up over the elbow.
Steeler - use the tan version's body but make it the correct color with better webgear and a proper visor. And fix the lower legs also.
Hawk - silver webgear and non-gloved hands
Clutch - fix the lower legs and sleeve length
RnR - fix the sleeve length
Flash - give him a new head thats not Grand Slam's
Grunt - needs a shave and a backpack

I'm going to go with a resounding "No." The Original 13 were good for what they were, a bunch of figures a toy company put out to back a concept they were taking a chance on. Compared to the varied & flavorful offerings of Joes created since, the Original 13 just look like a bunch of generic army men. There are far more interesting figures that could be put out than a bunch of guys in green jumpsuits. Sure hardcore old school Joe fans would buy the sets, but the average consumer, or for that matter, the fans that don't get the big thrill over the OG13, would likely pass on the set. Personally, I think they'd warm the shelves for quite some time.

Yes I would want two 7 figure sets.
:breaker: Needs his backpack, new bearded head & short-sleeved arms.
:clutch: Needs short-sleeves. Just needs new bare hands that the other short-sleeved figures would need too.
:flash: Needs new head.
:grandslam: I think there are a few people who didn't get him the 1st time around. Plus he needs his jetpack.
:grunt: Needs new head. Plus a few people missed him in the 3 pack.
:hawk: Needs bare hands.
:rocknroll: Almost good with the comic pack version needs bare hands. Gun holster instead of knife sheath.
:scarlett: Needs new head.
:shortfuze: Needs new head, web gear like Zap, new bare hands, Zap's backpack, & UBP one doesn't count! :shifty:
 Hmmm don't think anything needs fixing here. Perhaps a better cartoon colored version.
:stalker: Needs new bare hands not painted over gloves.
:steeler: Needs new torso maybe use Wild Bill's? Needs his trademark visor. I wouldn't mind them making him cartoon colored.
:zap: New 7 pack one looks good. So I wouldn't mind this one be his cartoon remake.
Then one of the packs will need another character. I wouldn't mind a Sparks. Shooter is just forgettable. However I bet they would add another :duke: Duke. :whistling:

For my money, though, I'd rather they split it into two 8-packs. Use the new Zap body as a base (has the throwback boots and proper trouser pouches (no knife/gun holsters). Short-sleeve Joes should use the Viper upper arm, and Tomax/Xamot lower arms (new bare hands FTW).

Box #1: Snake-Eyes (Flash/G.S. lower legs), Scarlett (paint the molded on belt, forget the add-on belt), Stalker, Breaker (Clutch head), Grand Slam (Comic pack Hawk head), Steeler (Shipwreck torso/Trooper arms, '86 Hawk shoulder holster), Short-Fuze (new head mold, Zap's webgear), Cobra Officer.

Box #2: Hawk (new headsculpt w/Flat-top), Clutch, Rock'n Roll, Flash, Grunt (Hawk head), Zap, Cobra Trooper, Cobra Commander (Resolute battle mask, Dvd 5-Pack helmet, alternate new sculpt hooded head).

That'd give just about everyone their proper 1982 look, right down to the head sharing and body reuse (where necessary). I'd wait for 2012, for a 30th Anniversary cash-in. This kind of set is very ambitious (even with the bare minimum of new tooling), and you'd need a good amount of time to pass, plus a tie-in event to make this thing sell in the numbers it'd need to make it worth Hasbro's time.

As an apology from Hasbro for the woefully incomplete and poorly executed 15th Anniversary "Stars and Stripes Forever" set, it'd definitely be worth the wait, and the price.

Word. This pack would be a major snoozefest for me. I'd happily pick up a couple when they hit clearance though, for fodder.

I'd say yes.
Like it was previously said, the figures that are already available needs some tweaking like Flash's head for instance. He needs a better noggin.

yeah, as unpopular as this may be here (and on other joe community boards) I'd have to give a thumbs down on this one.

Hardcore Joe fans will buy this boxset for sure, hardcore customizers may buy a box or two, and the little grand mother looking for a toy for her grandson may pick it up because it has "green army men" inside, but otherwise I too think these would warm the shelves terribly.

Personally I don't get excited about the thought of the O13 like most of you, I honestly feel those who got v2s look even better - heck I even prefer tan Clutch over the original if only because it's a "splash" of colour. Like Viper said earlier, they were good for what their purpose were in their time.

My Snake Eyes has a timber wolf pet, and Hawk wears a bomber jacket in my universe, and Rock n Roll looks a ton better in his tan shirt and camo pants. I'd definitely have no interest in the O13 ~ however if this boxset was a Joe Convention exclusive or something, I'd think that would sell better with a limited quantity.

I also say no. Mainly because I'm tired of Hasbro rehashing concepts, and figures. I want new characters, or at the very least, newer versions of joes we aint got yet.

If it was "Stars and Stripes Done RIGHT" I'd say yes...using the comic pack molds, unique heads for everyone, with con figure level paint jobs I'd be interested....If that's not it, I'd rather see something newer and more immaginative like the Hazzardous Environment sets.

I have to agree with Kilcarr, Lance, Viper, and Bandy in that the set would be so drab compared to what we have gotten and are getting with the movie figures. So, ew no.

Yes, but only if the appearances of the figures are different than the originals. When xhairs suggests something as simple as putting the characters in tan uniforms, that is exactly what would work. It's just enough of a side step to keep things interesting without getting to convoluted.

All of the original characters are recognizable enough that even in straight tan or desert camouflage each "look" would hold up.

New heads are a must for Short-Fuze, Flash, Grunt, and Grand Slam. The other figures have had pretty good representations so far.

As far as web gear and equipment... Short-Fuze and Zap need their iconic "across the chest" straps. Steeler needs a visor. Use the "Glenda" Scarlett head and its helmet. Rock 'n Roll needs a better sculpted ammo belt. Breaker could use some kind of equipment update, too.

I'd also expand the set past the 013 to include General Austin, General Flagg, and Shooter.
