GIJoe.........the VideoGame

I thought this should go in this main section rather than the movie one just because it goes beyond the movie. EA confirms that there will be a GI Joe: Rise of Cobra video game this summer.

The G.I. JOE® video game will feature an exclusive storyline that picks up where the live-action movie leaves off, allowing players to re-create and re-live the greatest moments from the film, cartoon series and action figure toy line. The game will feature 12 G.I. JOE® characters, each with unique abilities and weapons. Adding to the adrenaline rush will be an intense single-screen co-op mode allowing two players to easily unite as a team in a classic struggle between good and evil as they work together to defeat the powers of the COBRA organization. The G.I. JOE® video game is under development for Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, Wii™, PlayStation®2, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable), Nintendo DS™, and mobile devices.

Hello EA, this is your bread and butter calling - You missed us.

I get the feeling that I may end up hating playing this on the Wii - But I am not picking up a PS3 or Xbox just for one game.

I'm kinda shocked it's gonna be on the PS2??

After playing Superman Returns for the X-Box, I no longer play any movie tie-in games.

That being said, I'm sure my nephew will buy this, so I'll be "forced" to play it as well. :shifty:

I will rent, then decide wether or not to buy. Being able to play coop over live makes this a little appealing. But still.....movie licensed game........

GI Joe 1 & 2 on the NES were fun....EA making tis game tells me it will suck.

Actually kind of sounds like it's based off the Mercenaries games which you can do all of those things in. I'm not holding my breath on this game, it could be all kinds of cool or all kinds of meh. Depends on if they fix things from Merc2 for it.

I just realized we never got a video game for the Dark Knight....I wonder if the director told Warner, " Hey do me a favor, please don;t ruin this great movie by having some company make a cheap crummy game based on it, like Pirates of the Caribbean".

I feel sorry for all of you, and I find your lack of faith disturbing. Are you guys even GIJoe fans?? Do you celebrate your hobby? Cuz it seems like you mourn it. Geeeeez. Instead of over-critisizing everything that comes out with the G.I.Joe name attached, you should be psyched simply because it is coming out.

I think it will be an awesome game either way because it is a GIJoe game. It will be cool to use the characters I want and blow sh*t up and give Cobra the beat down first hand.

Its not that the game is G.I. Joe...its the fact that it is a movie property. Movie tie in games suck. I think the only decent one was Spiderman and that was because they already had the engine set up for spiderman games before the movie came out.

That may be true about movie based games. But it just adds on to the criticism I hear about every little thing they do for the Joe line. It seems like the popular thing to do; collect Joes, but at the same time talk smack about their perceived (and most likely imagined) suckiness and the high level of disappointment generated from said suckiness.
