I just grabbed the new Clone Wars Magna Guard from Target. Like the assassin droid and a couple of other figures in the animated line, this one kind of fits in with the realistic figures, with the feet and head being the only obvious exaggerated parts. Speaking of the head. The head is so tiny it puts Bouschh Leia's head to shame. It's literally the size of a pea. The only place where this one really fails though is with the lack of knee articulation (and the missing extra head that it was previously shown with). The added knees would have put this one over the top for me. But this is honestly the best Magna Droid yet, and seriously overshadows the ROTS versions. This one comes with a pike weapon and projectile rocket launcher. I gave mine one of the mortar launchers from the Legacy accessory packs to arm him like the Magnas in Battlefront II. Overall a pretty good buy; just not as awesome as it could have been.

Articulation:
Ball/socket chickpea head
Torso swivel
Ball jointed shoulder and elbows
Swivel wrists
Cut thighs

I like this figure a lot, and plan to get a few to be test model Bats or something. However, I am disappointed in the lack of knee and ankle articulation. Other than that, it's a big improvement over the original version.

Small head doesn't bother me. Like I say with the newsculpt BATS -- they're ROBOTS. They don't have to entirely conform to human proportions (or those established by the human characters in a given toy concept).

The lack of knee and ankle articulation DOES bother me, especially since the legs look a bit pre-posed. I'll have to see one of these in person to decide.

I don't see why they can make the IG-86 SO awesome and then this one is soooooo close to being perfect but fails at a critical point. Regardless, it is a cool looking toy.

I agree with Kilcarr. The previous assassin droid is an amazing figure, and this one appears to fall a bit flat in comparison. I'll still pick one up whenever I see it, though. I'm a sucker for robots.

You could spray paint a R.E.V. figure silver and end up with a better looking figure than that with more articulation. I'm not impressed. Like others have said, the next droid after the IG had a lot to live up to, but this one doesn't even come close.
