I'm sure some people have seen this before, but I never did:

Goofy? Yes. Illogical? Yes. Not "100% HARDCORE REAL WORLD MILITARY ACCURATE"? Yes. Awesome? Also yes. Come on, it's Nullifiers driving around giant bugs...what's not to love?

I think thats the "fat BAT" as it was termed at the time in the picture as well.

Wow! Never seen that before. I wouldn't ever want one, but still cool to see. It makes a ton of sense that Nullifiers were made for Cobra-La too. They fit in much better there than with the IG's.

No wonder the Nullifier was completely odd man out in the ranks of the IGs. Nothing about those guys said "pilots for Destro" but now this revelation makes perfect sense. From here on out, I think I'll always just see "bikers for Golobulus" when I look at the Nullifier.

fat bat?

I'm intrigued.

That's very interesting. Nullifier is indeed a bit out of place among the IGs. I'm not sold on the concept of Cobra-La, but I really appreciate the archaeological work here.

Yeah, I first saw this image at the 1993 G.I.Joe Convention. As I have tried to verbally describe it to people over the years, "Think of something that's one part motorcycle, one part cockroach, and one part armadillo". I like the name "Insecticycle", but you gotta figure it probably would've picked up the nickname "BugBike" somewhere along the way.

Shame it didn't get made. As to other plans for Cobra-La, I'm pretty sure Pythona was in the works for 1988's female figure, but that never happened, either -- much to my (and probably a lot of other people's) considerable regret.

It's so odd I think I would have several of them in my collection if they had ever reached production. Just so weird in a good way.

Anyone look at the Group Projects?

Trekker- I found an old article that you wrote for Mastercollector that had that information. I also read some of the stuff on yojoe.com

Some of you might have seen that I was trying to hunt down a Tron cycle. It was for this GP. I thought it would have been awesome, but harder and more expensive to get than I wanted for a custom.

Gotta agree with the above....it really does explain the Nullifier figure.

Post subject:  Re: Unreleased Cobra-La vehicle art

The one thing that was news to me was the idea of Nullifier as a Cobra-La agent. While he looked a little strange for an Iron Grenadier, I don't feel he looks quite weird enough to be from Cobra-La. He doesn't have quite that "organic" look that they seemed to evince. :shifty:

Just my opinion, not trying to dispute the report.

I like the look of that thing. Pity they never got produced. So the Nullifiers were Cobra-La's version of the Dreadnoks?
