There was a thread a while back about storing figures, and I had posted about some Rubbermaid containers I use, that run about $4.50 or so. Today at Big Lots, I found a similar one for $3.50. It has dividers to make up to 15 small compartments, or if you don't use all the dividers, you can get 12 Joe-sized compartments. The nice thing with these versus the Rubbermaid ones is that these have a handle molded in (this could also be a bad thing, as it makes one compartment shallow, so you'll have to put in a figure with minimal accessories). The brand is Shop Basics (a generic Big Lots brand). They were back in the odds and ends tools they have, with the cheapo screwdrivers and whatnot. Measurements, right off the label are: 14.2 in/36cm (L), 9 in/22.8cm (W), 1.7in/4.3cm (H) Anyway, I figure for a buck cheaper and same size and stackability as the Rubbermaid containers, I'd let everyone know. If I get a chance, I'll post pics, if anyone is interested. |

I'm actually working on organizing some stuff today, so I have them out. I'll see if I can snap a few pics and post them. |

I've been using this for years. But, I've ran into a problem with some of them, and never had the time to figure out if the problem is the figures or the cases. For some of my cases with Star Wars figures, I'll see this greasy residue on some of the figures that have been stored for a while and in the bottom of the tray. The residue was not on either the figures or in the case before they were stored. Just something to be aware of. |

I grabbed a bunch of these for my 25A customs, and they work great. The 9 main compartments are perfect sized. The on the handle side are a slightly tighter fit but work well for accessories and smaller figs. I tried wiping them all down based on the tip above about a bit of film showing up later on the figs. Hoping that was like a humidity issue rather than a recurrent problem. But if anyone else has experienced similar issues, please let me know! |
