I grab his wallet and slip out quietly in the morning. AND I don't call back! :shifty:

I like how they showed him in the DDP Special Missions Tokyo issue. An independent operator with Joe ties. That's how he'll be in my Joeverse.

With my right hand.
I pose him and make him jump from the shelf right on top of my desk where he slices the sentry that was watching the glass of juice in one fluid movement.
As soon as another guard shows up, Budo throws his sai into his throat before he yells for help. After dragging both guys behind the glass of juice, he quietly drops to the keyboard tray where he falls to his side while I drink some juice. He gets back up and flips in the air all the way to the bed to duel with whoever is there. He's that tough.

:-D

Honestly I see him as an independent contractor and martial arts instructor.

don't.

The only thing worse than another ninja is a freakin samurai.

pass. Though I did see a kickass samurai custom from dover pro that might have gotten stuck being budo, so I could also see doing that.

I would use budo, as a name, if I had to justify a kickass samurai custom as being a joe.

He's one of the many non-military guys that's somehow attached to the Joe team like Chuckles, Bulletproof, T'Gin-Zu, Effects, and others.

In this case, Mr. Jesso is very much an underworld intel guy, a government contractor, who fixes motorcycles who happens to keep a generations-old family sword in a guitar case, underneath his expensive bass piece. Sometimes he gets in on the missions even if the Pentagon doesn't call him up, the Joe intelligence department gets him themselves, but he's got to be really careful on his ops in those cases (that's walking a thin line of get paid or get in trouble).

I see him as being part of the Japenese military on loan ot the US similar to Big Ben. In between Independent Contractor and Military Agent.

He can kind of choose his missions as he sees them benefitting himself, his family and his country.

In the underworld portions of Japan, where the Yakuza, and ninja assassins act out of honor to fulfill contracts for disreputable organizations like Cobra, Budo acts as a cultural consultant. Furthermore, in order to not be considered a "sell out" he must dress in ceremonial gear to underline his status as a Japanese noble-man and Samurai.

or something like that.

I explained this in my dio-story Resurrection years ago... :)

I like Budo... if only because he's someone everyone else dumps on...

One of my favorites and leads my Ninja Force when Storm Shadow is away (which is more often then most)

His specialty is Intelligence and he is a trained soldier as well as samurai, though he prefers edged weapons he still packs heat. I have him cross trained as a combat marksman. He likes the big picture and can over see battles from his sniper perch. He is a member and field leader of the Ninja Force.Due to its nature it is kind of a splintered unit and Budo is the defacto leader of the non-Arishikaga (Sp - check) members.

Ninja Force (because mine is different from most): Sneaky guys who are experts in martial arts and are responsible for training the other Joes in such. They are rarely used in field missions but when they are it is usually to break someone out of prison or steal something. Chain of Command goes Storm Shadow - Budo - Tj'Bang. Some of the Ninja Force are members of the Clan that Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are but most are not. Ninja Force members often have extended feild missions running Dojos or competing in worlds martial arts competitions just to keep an eye on the many enemies of the western world like Shadowloo, the Black Dragon Syndicate, The rouge Arishikaga member who've christened themselves the Red Ninjas and The Night Creeper Clan of assassins. They don't get allot of respect but the hoe their own row and are considered an essential sub-team to GI Joe command. Budo is an essential part of this team.

That is genius. The face is very simular. Good call.

I don't own Budo. The samuri out fit is too much for me.

Budo is pretty much an excellent infantry soldier. What makes him special and what got him on the Joe team is his silent weapons techniques. He could pick off an enemy soldier at 200 yds with an M4 from the passenger seat of a VAMP on the battlefield or he could sneak up on someone in the woods in the light of day to take them out. Sure his uniform is unorthodox, so is half the Joe roster's. But it stops a bullet better then what Flint, Duke, or Footloose are wearing.
