I wanted to get a final profile in before year end. I chose this Firefly as he really is the best version of Firefly we've seen. But, no one cares because he was released after so many other versions and was in a pegwarming comic pack. As such, he's worth another look: http://www.forgotten-figures.com/joe/05firefly.htm Enjoy! |

Nice choice and nice review! This version of Firefly is one of my all-time favorites too. I think I've army-built about a dozen so far to use as my 'Demo-Vipers', the small squad lead by (and trained by) Firefly. |

I have to completely agree with every point in the review. I really liked the 2000 release as well (as I did pretty much everything that was released that year) but this one was over the top with the new head. Sadly the Scrap Iron that came with him was horrible, and detracted from the pack as a whole. - R |

Oddly Enough I loved that pack because I put new heads on the Scrap irons and made them Cobra Mechanics. That firefly is my ARAHC Firefly, he pulls double duty with BTR Firefly for the character. |

I like this verion of Firefly so much he is one of the few figures I have out on display. I don't even have the original figure out. They nailed everything that is cool about that character. |

This one did replace v1 Firefly as my default. As an aside, I army built the Serpentor and Scrap Iron is nice too (except for the stubby arms) |

agreed on the usefulness of the update. with the old one, and the way his eyes looked, it was almost like they completely sculpted the figure over the body from someone like v1 hawk. what with how the eyes have that similar design, and also how there is that ridge that is similar to the joe's "sweater" collar. probably not the case, but it looks almost too similar not to have been. |

Up until the 25th, this Firefly became my default firefly. |

I gotta say I liked the sculpting of the eyes on v1 (v4 and the Convention Firefly's as well. The rest have some stupid fake covering between the eyes) it gave him a very sociopathic look. Otherwise it was a good review, however when it comes too great RAH repaints from 2003-2005, I think pretty much all of them are gonna be of little value. This Firefly, comic pack Storm Shadow, Ninja Strike Storm Shadow (v2 mold) Funskool Tripwire, the Anti Venom figures can all be bought for under 6 bucks each, but that's what happens when you've got redonkulous army building, a small collector base and the fact 1982-2001 style sculpts aren't en vouge anymore. |

Great review. I totally agree, this is the best of the Firefly figures. Also, I like the extra pictures at the end of the review. |

Firefly is one of those figures that I wonder if he really needed a new headsculpt, as was frequently the case with those comic sets. On the other hand, it was an EXCELLENT headsculpt, more expressive than the original (not that there was anything wrong with the original), and the camouflage job on the uniform was certainly the most intricate of all. I think most of the Firefly figures over the years have been excellent (the red-suited version in that 8-pack being an oddball possible exception), but this one is definitely one of the highlights. Although, also agreed, it came with a couple of strange repaints, especially the "YEEK! MY EYES!" Scrap-Iron. |
