Lucked out over the weekend and found the latest wave of joes at walmart. Resolute figs, blowtorch, torch and I'm really diggin' the new resolute figures. The new cobra trooper is probably my favorite 25th figure and the duke is going to be my default duke.

I wish there was a Cobra logo on the trooper but other than that, they are pretty nice.

Just highlight the silver cobra with red paint, and it'd look awesome.
Although he should also have a logo on his armor.
If it wasn't for the silver cobra, he'd be a good start for Shockwave. (Yeah I know he's coming with Destro, but it looks like he's diaper crotched)

There actually is a small cobra logo on the trooper. its on the silver piece on his shirt under the vest.

Is that the same helmet the Cobra Paratrooper in the Best of DVD set comes with?
Could you put the Resolute Trooper head on a regular blueshirt body? I just want to see how that would look. :-)
I really dislike the scar on Duke.

Here ya go. The resolute head is a little loose on the regular trooper though.

And since i was swapping out heads, here's the duke head on the resolute trooper body for a quick LBC custom of Duke from the GI Joe: Reloaded comic. :)

I don't really care for the figs to be honest.
Maybe if i see the cartoon but so far it is very very bland to me.

I think they look pretty good. Duke will be a new character, in my collection. Much as I like the figure, it's just not Duke to me. The Resolute trooper, I think, would make a great body guard for Cobra Commander.

Wow. They kind of look like both versions of barrel roll, don't they.

I am a big fan of resolute so far. I am actually willing and interested in buying a duke figure. I really wish that they'd done the black under layer as a shirt rater than an arm warmer, but that's a pretty easy fix.

How is the range of motion on the joints? Also, what does the gun peg on to?

Hmmm, I like them but I don't know how much more money I can spend on these things. The last 2 to 3 months has been insane with the amount of product showing up. I have to slow down somewhere and since these are not traditional styled 25th figures, I'll hold off on making sure I pre-order them. I've been doing that so far since I wanted anything that was redone in 25th style and was afraid I'd never see them in stores.

However, I may pick these up at my leisure if they're on the shelves. I just don't have the strong desire for these as much as the classic-styled ones.

Edit: Just noticed the feet on the Trooper...what the hell!?

I was really hopeing the design team had gotten beyond the mid torso hump but it looks like its still very present sadly. That will turn me away from most of the figures. The hump is at least covered on these two which kind of begs the question of why its there to begin with since the figures don't look like they can utilize the joint with thier vests on.

What's worse is the design team has proven again and again that you can indeed have the chest joint without the awefull hump plauging this line (ie Quick Kick, Destro IG). but still the hump keeps showing up. Why I have no idea.

The trooper is good enough to purchase, duke leaves a lot to be desired so I will probably pass on him. But overall not a good start to this line if they want my patronage.

I think the look really, really good.

I never thought I's hear myself say it, but there's too much stuff coming out waaaay too fast. It's impossible to keep up with.

My only only [LASER BLAST] with the new figures is I don't like how the upper legs stick out right under da crotch.

I really like the out of package pictures better than the in pack pictures since it gives me a better idea of how well they would mix in with the rest of my 25th figures.

Got to say I really like them. Enough of the 25th design to fit in but with enough changes to make them a bit more modern. I think the trooper makes for a nice bridge figure between the unprotected blue shirts and the body armored Vipers. So another rank of trooper without having to deal with odd colors in a repaint.
