http://www.toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=242&itemid=13729 EDIT: The joke is that Yo Joe's gallery/archive format lists the figure as Code Name: Montezuma's Skeleton, which sounds like a bad secret agent tv show. http://www.yojoe.com/action/08/montezuma.shtml |

Boo on the link with no comment. I hope that he goes somewhere with this - I'd love to have a good comedy use for figure since I have absolutely no use for it right now. - R |

I love the figure. It makes great "lost tomb" style dio fodder if nothign else. I wish the pack had included a few more similar pieces. You can never have too many interesting parts for dios. My problem with it is that it in no way resembles anything related to the actual AZTEC Montezuma or his culture. It's awesome for some sort of psuedo European Lord of the Rings/Conan style corpse (like where Conan finds his Atlantean sword in the film), but there's nothing about it at all that references Montezuma. The real Montezuma certainly never wore a crown like that or wielded that kind of sword. Someone either didn't do their homework, or didn't care and just wanted to tie it into the cartoon. Of course, the cartoon might have gotten it wrong to begin with... |

Or someone was reusing something that was supposed to be released in the indy line, (that had the tooling already made) but was never going to get released. - R |

it's the sceleton from the DVD pack. He's making fun of it, as if it was supost to be an exciting action filled charecter. |

I get the tie -in to the worthless DVD pack fig. I just don't didn't get the joke he was making with the strip. |

I am thinking he was trying something like "Oh what an exciting new character figure" and it was just not blatant enough. I think that is what he was doing, might be wrong. |

Anatomy of the Joke: Follow the link to the yojoe page for the Montezuma's Skeleton 'figure', and you'll see it's in its typical form, stating, "Codename: Montezuma's Skeleton." Shortpacked guy found this phrasing humorous, and thought it sounded like some bad secret agent TV show. Hence.... |

I especially liked the fox kids stype cartoon warning at the beginning of the strip. I'm going to outfit mine in Kill clothes, and give him a PPK and a Martini. - R |

Yep, as Darko says Yo Joe's gallery formatting lists the toy as Codename: Montezuma's Skeleton.http://www.yojoe.com/action/08/montezuma.shtml As Walky said on his blog, he thinks the explanation is unnecessary, working better as a non-sequitor. |
