So I found the Fang/ Claw 2pack. I had some observations and a question:

Observation #1- I don't know if I picked up a goof, but I have two sets, and they have the packaging location of the figures reversed.

Observation #2- The Viper's color scheme reminds me of the unproduced midnight Chinese Viper that was fairly common back in the day.

Question- It looks like the Claw only has 2 bombs, but has 4 racks, which leaves 2 empty pegs. Has anybody opened a set to confirm this?

Only two bombs yes.

variation of Pilots have been confirmed.

The Viper obviously forgot to wash the correct gear and didn't want to be late.

The FANG grey bomb can fit in the empty CLAW racks. Also, the added additional holes to the red FANG missles so they can fit there too.

wow, you guys will buy anything.

And two of them, wow.

These sets looked horrible, and since no one is opening them, ehhh, "collectors"

LOL

I'm not 100 percent against MOC, but if you guys keep buying every piece of crap H puts out, they won't know they are doing a terrible job.

Maybe they aren't, how many Mutt figures do you have on card?

the fang from this set is great.

Updated control stick, nose cannon and engine cage, non warped blades and a full assortment of munitions makes this an easy buy for anyone wanting more fangs.

The claw is a let down, it's like corps version of a claw done to hasbro specs.

The Air trooper is great, the Viper is meh.

So for me I got a complete (and superior)Fang a trooper, and some custom fodder for 15 bucks. Good deal to me.

and no there are not extra bombs or missiles for the claw.

The Fang is an improvement over the original with the little tweaks already mentioned.

The Claw isn't bad. The loss of the moving stabilizers doesn't really bother me. The pure white, however, really showcases the cheapness of the plastic. A dull grey or painted white would've gone a long way to correct this.

The figures are shown as being the pilot to the opposite vehicle on the box. However, the Viper filecard makes it sound as if they're interchangeable when it comes to flying them. The Viper is interestingly colored, but a red flightsuit for an exposed pilot makes little sense.

I personally liked this set myself.I bought three to build up my Cobra air squadron. The colors on the Viper are a little cheesy but I think the trooper looks great. The CLAW is a little bland but to me it was worth the 15 just for the two figures and the FANG.

I like this set too. The Fang, as mentioned, is awesome. The Claw, not so much. Maybe if we hadn't had the original to compare it to, and it was just the equivalent of a backpack accessory like the jet packs... but compared to the original it isn't very good at all.

As for the figures, the Red Viper is the more difficult to swallow, but I saw a custom somebody did in turning the figure minus the vest into a cobra medic. I'm thinking I might borrow that idea to work this figure into my Cobra army.

I'm probably in the minority, but I actually like the red helmet on the air trooper. The normal Air troopers all have the officer's symbol on their helmets, so how do you show which is the squad leader? For me this figure is going to be the squad leader for my air troopers. The red helmet may not be the best way to signify the difference in status, but if that's all we get to work with so be it.

I just don't understand the complaints with this set. I mean, how much is an original FANG with stickers already applied going for on the secondary market? At least with this set, you're getting a nice minty one with upgrades, and you get to apply minty stickers yourself. Plus you get vehicle filecards, two figures, and a CLAW that the figures can mount and be able to stand while attached.

I like the new CLAW. I had to keep myself from buying a 4th set the other day when I saw one. The only feature I sort of liked with the original was the landing gears and the idea of it being able to fly as a drone.. For a straight jet pack sort of thing though. this new version is perfect. It closer fits what was in the comics actually.
