This is an idea that's been kickign around my head for a while. Overlord needs to get his own subteam. He's a guy that briefly served as the leader of Cobra and served as second in command to Serpentor, it seems only natural that he'd break away after some point. I don't consdier The Coil to be his organization despite the con-set. That's Serpentor's baby there. And from there ... I'm kinda stuck. I can't think of exactly what details would make his group work. They need some new name and a color scheem to call their own, but red and gold doesn't exactly strike fear into anybody. As for names, I kinda wanted something serpenty, to show it was a splintered off group from Cobra. I'm thinking something aong the lines of Ouroboros (the snake that eats it's own tail), Levithan, or Wyvern. I would have went with Hydra if Marvel hadn't already taken it. Any ideas? |

although the Coil troopers looked ok. I do agree Overlord needs 'lackeys" however, i do like the idea of him pretty much running the coil, while Serpentor was the "Figurehead" that being said, Ive been trying to look into creating a "seargent major" coil character, kinda along the lines of Major Bludd, or Voltar. then theres also Freelance troops, possible Ninjas, and specific Coil troopers, like a heavy weapons trooper, Coil engineers, Coil Medics,.. and the like... then theres also modifying the (hated) Hiss IV sound attack tank to fit the Coil, since its different enought hat the other Hiss designs to be a seperate vehicle. Same deal with the Fang III. I think that idea could easily translate over to your Idea of an independent Overlord group. My question is, would he be some affiliate of Cobra (like The Dreadnoks, Darklon, M.A.R.S., or the Night Creepers) or completely independent ( Like Col. Wingfield;s crew)? |

I think the Coil was a good choice, with thier yellow and gold color scheme. Overlord, Serpy and maybe Interrogator. |

In my Joeverse, Overlord is flanked by his Crimson Shadow Guard (since it is rumored he is a CG). They all have had facial surgery to appear identical to Overlord! |

The CSG is like Cobra Commander's "SS" in my Cobra Hierarchy, so I think that Overlord would make a good leader for the team. If you run Overlord as a possible unsurper to the commander, the shadow guard could be the secret underground version of the CGs that help him to undermine the commander's leadership of Cobra. It's better than my use for him right now - I put him in charge of the incinerators, because he was orange. - R |

The Shadow Guard is my CC's secret army too. He also has the Processional Guards and the Plague all working their own angles for him. Not to mention a bunch of doubles running around. A riddle inside a mystery wrapped in an enigma, if you will. Overlord never stood out to me on his own and I think he works much better as Serpentor's general, with the Coil being a splinter faction in service to them. The Crimson Guard also secretly work to create and back Serpentor to take over Cobra. I even borrowed the name Iron Klaw for a new character that is something of a Captain America to the Coil, shield and all. |

When I first saw Overlord I thought he was Cobra Commander in disguise. How about Overlords Underlings? |
