Great news! The Q & A's are coming through today...but not only that, the Hasbro team has released the following statement:

Hasbro wrote:
A note from the Hasbro G.I. Joe Team: Thank you for your incredible support over the past year. What started as just a handful of figures in 2007 now includes a full line of figures, vehicles, comic packs, DVD packs, Mighty Muggs, and Combat Heroes. Yo Joe!

We would like to take this opportunity to answer one of the most common questions about the classic 3 3/4"" figures we have heard from the fans:

Will there be any more classic 1980's 3 3/4"" figures after fall 2008?
The Hasbro G.I. Joe Team's response: In late 2008 you will see a bonus wave of single figures and classic comic packs that are redecos of figures from the 25th Anniversary collection. Due to the huge success of the G.I. Joe line, we were able to squeeze in a number additional figures into the end of this year. But this does not mean the end of classic figures or new tooling! As we head into 2009 prior to the August 2009 live-action movie G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, you will see newly tooled classic vehicles, newly tooled versions of your favorite characters from G.I. Joe Resolute, and a number of favorites you have been waiting for: Dr. Mindbender, Alpine, Tunnel Rat, Alley Viper, Recondo, Outback, Night Creeper, Zap, Shockwave, and even more!

With the release of the 2009 movie you will see many of your favorite 1980's characters in movie styling, but that does not mean the end of the classic style. The Hasbro G.I. Joe Team recognizes that there are plenty of additional classic 1980's figures and vehicles to release in the future after the movie and in the years to come.

The Q & A's should be coming today, so don't forget to keep checking back to GeneralsJoes Q & A Page as I post links to them all! :)

Yay! A bright spot in what is shaping up to be a pretty dismal looking spring for me, toy wise. Dr Mindbender, Recondo and Shockwave! Yay! All before the movie too!

Thanks for posting that bubba. This is shaping up to be a crappy morning, and stuff like that helps to cheer me a bit. :D

Fantastic news. I'm thrilled to get a Night Creeper.

I think you have officially made Lance's day.

Glad to know they plan on keeping the line going, to bad my wallet doesn't feel the same way.

Just from a "character list" standpoint, even I have to say -- Dr. Mindbender is WAAAYYY overdue for inclusion in this line (and probably should've been in the "Arise Serpentor Arise" DVD Set).

I suspect Hasbro understands that a movie-based line is going to be somewhat limited and that a demand will remain for something more familiar. Transformers fans didn't take the apparent demise of the Classics line with the changeover to movie toys all that well, and Hasbro brought back the Classics under the "Universe" moniker. I suspect the plan is similar for G.I.Joe.

(Maybe we'll actually get that Miles Mayhem figure eventually?) :-D ;-)

Dr. Mindbender? No sane person would want that figure. ;)

In all seriousness, I'm surprised it's taken this long for that figure and I imagine they could finally make a great version of this character. Though I love the Battle Corps version, I don't think that figure is as widely accepted as it should be. The other characters on the list are all fan favorites, like the good Doctor, and are great decisions. I'm excited about them. I would preorder a wave like that without even seeing the figures yet.

I wish they'd go back to the O-ring figures.

My wallet just screamed like a girl...Anyone wanting a kidney? I'll have one to trade for AVs! :-P :-P :-P

Edit: Wonder what color scheme they will go with? I hope for v1 or v2 scheme...

I will take that kidney, thanks.

After army building 24 Vipers, 36 BATS, and 48 Cobra Troopers (over the 4 color variations they've done) I think I can sit out the Alley-Viper hordes...

Then, of course, I'll see him and want 100!

Night Creepers fill me with Happee! I hate having my Red Ninjas with Cobra sigils, but needed someone for Storm Shadow to lead. Now I can stock up on those TRU 5-packs, and wait for these guys to fill my Cobra ninja niche.

As far as Mindbender... I like the Battle Corps version, too... but is yellow and purple really preferable to a bare chest?

V1 I can easily see as a repaint of Quick-Kick's body, with a new head, hands, and legs. The webgear will really hide the reuse.

BC Mindbender could be a yellow repaint of the Viper mold with a new vest and hands. My one wish, if he ever got done, would be for removable headgear... I love that design!

Wow, excellent news.

I was actually wondering a few days ago how long the line would run.

Sure, can you tell us if it is a senior or a Kodak one?

Dear Hasbro;

Please throw a Monkeywrench into the Dr. Mindbender plans.
