Ok, first off I'll freely admit to being one of the people who didn't have a problem with the first 25th Anniversary version of Major Bludd. The recycling of the Zartan figure wasn't great, but it still looked ok on display witht eh rest of my 25th Anniversary collection.

..........then my "Pyramid of Darkness" DVD set arrived. At first I cared more about the Quick Kick figure and MASS Device piece, but when I had time to take a look at the good Major I was truly impressed at what a major (Pardon the pun) improvement this was. The use of the HISS Driver torso, the little details like his blue collar, and the overall cool cartoon vibe quickly made hime my favorite figure of the set! And needless to say he quickly bumped his predecessor off the shelf!

And yeah, the first Major Bludd really stinks!

Good to hear. The desert environment pack Major Bludd has gotten so much praise, I was wondering how the DVD Bludd compared.

wow, I didn't realize they had "fixed" him. All the pics from the Cons he was the Major Zartan version. I just looked him up on ebay and he looks sharp.

I got them both with in a day of each other and really like them both.

They are different enough to really give you reason to have them both.

I have to agree, although I am a bit biased towards G.I. Joe Sunbow cartoons, I find this Major Bludd a MAJOR improvement. The HISS Driver torso was a no-brainer from the start and I saw many customizers critizing Hasbro for not utilizing this already exisiting torso to create Major Bludd.

While I know his black/brown colour scheme is iconic, this cartoon-accurate colour palatte is so much more interesting. I love the metallic silver, the blue undershirt, and dark blue-ish helmet. The first thing I did was trim down his dog tags so they sit perfectly under the collar of his shirt where they fold open. I even went the extra mile and stuck his missiles on the backpack so I wouldn't loose them. Love his newly sculpted boots and fixed mechanical arm (5 finger kung-fu grip!)

Easily one of the best figures of the line.

While the brown/black Major Bludd is considered to be authentic, I completely define the DVD version to be the definitive and defacto version.

This is what kills me about this line, repaint number "X" is usually the best version (look at TRU 3 pack for Cobra Commander, DVD Bludd, DVD Serpentor, etc).

The set is showing up online, but should eventually hit retail.

Is DVD Bludd and Desert Bludd the same figure with paint swap?

I will get both, but I just ordered the Bludd by himself at a premium from a bud who had the hookup.

So pumped. As much as I love Sunbow, gotta have original Bludd too. Glad I ditched original 25th Bludd unopened for $14 on eBay

DVD Bludd has different legs. Well, actually the same legs as single pack Bludd. So I guess it's desert Bludd who has different legs.

DVD Bludd has Zartan upper legs and the new Bludd lower legs, Desert Bludd has Cobra Commander upper legs and the new Bludd lowers. So we have three slightly different Bludds. Does Desert Bludd have the same hands as DVD Bludd? (The Extreme Conditions packs are sitting in my Pile of Loot at the moment, otherwise I'd check)

Thanks NFC. Totally reinforces that I made the right call in buying him.

Cause it's straight up old school yo.

Do Crips complain about having to kill Bloods?

Do pimps complain about pimpin hos?

If you can't handle the gangstaness of 80's Joe, you need to step back son.

And also, call me, as I have a new job steady schedule and can hang.
