Ice Cream Soldier is NOT a Cobra (eventhough plenty of people think he is and use him as one)

people use him as a cobra because the mold was reused as Shock Viper.


as for the choices, i picked Metalhead. He lina looks better than the original, and I use his original backpack on him.

to bad they didnt include leg pegs for the leg missiles,.. but superglue took care of that....

Other than colors, Metalhead v.2 is better than the original. The Original had a great accessory compliment, however.

Ah, v.3 Alley Viper. New, better v.2 mold with the original's color palette. I got this after seeing my neighbor's v.2 Alley Viper, but the v.3 was the only one i found at the Shoppette (those of you who grew up on base may recall when Shoppettes had a fairly good toy selection). I've got a few v.2s now, but still haven't replaced my childhood v.3. That needs to be remedied.

Night Creeper Leader. The tiger-stripe one was better. I have the '94 currently and the gold/yellow/purple just aren't doing it for me.

I think i've gotta give the v.3 AV the nod, mostly for that warm glow of nostalgia.

Uh, yeah, Ice Cream Soldier was a Joe, although indeed the molds worked far better as the Shock-Viper trooper years later. I actually liked Ice Cream Soldier, but I couldn't in fairness vote for him as a Cobra.

I went with Major Bludd, if only because the other figures -- just weren't that impressive. Night Creeper Leader was never a favorite, the Alley-Viper recolor was not an improvement on the year before, Metal-Head was okay (I liked the maniacal grin on his face, at least), and that 1994 purple-and-orange nightmare of a Viper bordered on the insulting. Horrible color scheme, and why come up with a whole new version of such a classic trooper? The Club did a nice job in salvaging this one in 2005 by making him part of the Iron Grenadiers with a much better color scheme and new identity.

Major Bludd wasn't bad, and that spike sticking out of his right elbow was a nice little nod to his original robotic/armored arm, in a quirky way.

I wish Star Brigade WAS on here, because I would've gone for the COBRA BLACKSTAR as my favorite on the year without hesitation.

And yeah, I like the LUNARTIX Aliens, too.

I voted for the crappy Viper -- Because, he looks great amongst Toxo-Vipers, Techno-Vipers, Annihilators, Gas Mask Troopers...

You don't need to army-build them all -- just have a few purple '94 Vipers to fill out the ranks.

metal head was the best update to a character that year... He has allot of uses once you drop the old barrel chested version

I voted for the Viper. He’s a purple abomination but I really like gas masks.

I voted Metal-Head because it was such a vast improvement over the 1990 figure.

Viper. It's a great mold, as the club has proved in the past. Also, the colors aren't THAT bad, many figures in hte 80s that everyone loves had purple.

OK, same thing in this poll.
I too made the mistake and thought Ice Cream Soldier was a Cobra because of the later Shock Viper. I fixed it, but now ofcourse all the votes are gone.
