I'm friggin done, this sh*& is out of hand.
I'm Tired of endlessy chasing figures only to find this crap.

Image

This is just the last straw, I go from so happy seeing the card art.. to wanting to punch babies in a single instant
as once i find another swapped figure. The people that do this, seriously need a kick to the balls. If i ever find out who does this stuff, friend or foe, is gonna have a rude awakening.

Since when are G.I.Joes worth Fraud... pathetic, if this Hobby is this serious, you no longer have a Hobby, its called a disease.

....see, I'd actually have bought that, because I like the Scorch figure. But I get your point.

While in LA last weekend, a Target in Santa Clarita had the Rattler I was looking for. But for whatever reason, some dirtbag put in a vintage Rattler strapped in the box. Dusty, warped, yellowed engines, bent missles, stickers applied Rattler. 20+ years old.

I stopped the teenage stock clerk who did not understand it at all (because they looked similar). He thought I would be excited about the prospect of buying a 20+ year old beat-up toy. I took it to the front they thanked me and it hit the pile of go-backs.

I saw it on the shelf the next day.

Pisses me off to no end.

I wonder,... with all the people complaining about this on different Boards. has anyone decided to write an email and alert the managers of these stores?

Pretty much the entire collecting world is aware of this crap by now, you would figure the news would get a hold of it, and spin it into a new kind of fraud.

I've thought about sending an e-mail to the corporate headquarters but that probably wouldn't solve the problem either. It truly is frustrating for the honest folks that want these items.

You should have bought it and put on ebay as an ultra-rare Bat variant.

Yeah, the most frustrating part about figure swapping is that stores just honestly don't give a damn. Not the lower level employees, not the managers. There are tons and tons of cases reported where people have brought a swapped pack to a manager's attention, been given the "Thanks for letting us know" speech, and then found the pack back on the pegs later.

I always hope I might walk into a TRU and find a vehicle set with the Joes swapped with something else. Old 80s Joes I can use as custom fodder, Chap Mei figures I can use as custom fodder, old Corps figures, new Corps figures...

Sadly, no such luck yet... :-|

And yes, sadly no matter what our efforts are, the employees and the managers simply don't care enough... And they're not toy fans so really, how can they tell in some cases?

It doesn't bother me that they can't tell the difference between the figure that should be in there and the one that shouldn't, but it DOES bother me when it is explained to them what happened and they still don't care.

This was found at a Walmart no doubt, the month before i found a Droid Factory exclusive with two Freakin playmobil figures.

I mean for freaks sake, I showed them to the manager, and asked.. seriously politically correct walmart manager, does this look like ANYTHING resembling a Star wars figure much less even in the same category of toys? You dont even sell these pieces of crap.

He thanked me, and a week later it was there, only on clearence for 8.99, from 9.99. :verymad:

I think its time to send a Complaint to Hasbro, letting them know it will hurt people, especially kids who get this crap by accident. Since the stores do not feel like making sure the product with your name on it, is being represented the way you intended, there should be fines for returning product that is not the same as purchased.

I don't know how the law works in America, but over here in England, you could film the conversation on your camera phone, and if it was put back on the shelf call Tading Standards and have the store prosecuted for fraud.

You guys have some real horror stories....

As far as Joes go the worst I'd seen was a VvV 2-pack where Baroness had been switched with The Reviled Doctor Link Talbot. Predictable, really, but still a dick move.

But with Transformers it gets bad, I've seen so many boxed toys swapped for cheapass dollar store vehicles with dollar store Power Ranger knockoff figurines thrown in, that look absolutely nothing at all like what's advertised on the package. I mean you'd have Vector Prime's box, and then inside there'd be this horrible green jet with some random tiny Zord figurine in the corner...
I didn't bring it up with employees/managers because I know Zellers won't do anything about it... their toy aisles are always complete messes because they neglect them so much... and they even put toys out before their codes are entered in the computers...

You brought up an interesting point Kambei. I remember when I was working at TRU, packages like this would be pulled off the shelves to be culled as opened or tampered product.

I would figure it would be considered fraud, not just fromt he consumer returning the figure but by the store reselling the false item....

I wonder if an email to the Better Business Bearau might bring better results....
