| Post subject: | Star Wars: Legacy Comic Packs |
Ok, so yesterday while hanging out with JollyRoger (thanks again for all the cool stuff!), I came across the new Legacy Comic packs (Imperial Knights & Darth Talon/Cade Skywalker.) I never had any intention of reading the new series because I'm just tired of Star Wars. But I snagged the packs and let me say - I'm changing my mind. Here's a mini-review: Antares/Ganner pack (Imperial Knights) - these figs are just near-perfect. If the Crimson Empire figs were built like this, I would have bought a ton of them. They've got every type of articulation known to man except ball-joint hips or an o-ring. The design is pure awesome and the head sculpts are nice & unique. I will likely buy more as I find them and customize a whole squad of Knights. ![]() ![]() Darth Talon - if she had elbows, she'd be the best figure since Evo Darth Maul -- the sculpt, the detail and the (almost) articulation is beautiful. I'm not normally fond of "slut troopers", but she just seems all sorts of bad-ass. I'm gonna have to find a way to give her elbows, but the rest of her is so perfect that I can almost overlook that. Cade Skywalker is the exception - he flat-out sucks. He's way too short -- the Knights are as tall as a Tiger Force Flint, and Cade might as well be Yoda. And his head looks too big on his body and I'm not too fond of the sculpt. I think I'll just customize a Cade from scratch using SW or 25A parts when I get back home in October, because this one is pretty lame. I may salvage some fodder off him, but as-is he's just too Hobbit-y. ![]() ![]() OMG! It's a cross-genre battle royale!!!! ![]() The comics that came with the figs were pretty good - I'd never seen them before, so I went ahead and ordered the first 3 Legacy TPBs from Amazon - I think I'll like the new series just fine. And now I'm wondering when we'll see a Darth Krayt figure (other than custom.) Good job (almost), Hasbro! |

I ordered the knights, not sure who they are, but the fodder alone is sweet. I'll pick up the other one if I ever see it, but that skywalker would make a neat hobbit. where did all the potter figures come from? |

I picked up a buttload at TRU for "Lil' Chief" when I was there last month and got a couple for myself as well Too bad I couldn't find Dumbledore, Hagrid, or Ron, but I managed to get Voldemort, Hermione, Sirius, Neville, Snape, Cho, the Weasly twins along with a couple of different Harrys. Expensive, sure - but if it keeps my 11-yr old daughter playing with 1:18 figs, it's worth it http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/ ... ryPlopper/ |

I can't believe they didn't give Talon elbows... Try the arms from 'Fireside Gown' Padme (released in one of the last few 30th anniversary waves). She has similar gloves on AND elbow joints, so it shouldn't be too difficult to bash together. |

Figures look good. I'm kinda surprised; I found the Ventress/ Skorr wave in Wal Mart this past week, Brians Toys seems to have Wave 3 in stock, and the Imperial Knights are apparently from wave 2. That's a lot of comic sets hitting almost at once. bearcatcc |

very cool, that 4 pack isn't too expensive on the bay, about 25 shipped. Are the figures articulated? speaking of which, wow, that red chic really ins't articulated, is she>? |

The 4-packs were 20Euro at TRU, which at the time was about $30 - single packs were 8Euro and the deluxe figs were 10Euro at the store. During my trip, the exchange rate was around 1:1.5, so add half to everything to get the US total (10E=$15US, 20E = $30, etc.) -- They're pretty much fully articulated, but their hands are weak & tiny. And the wands are useless because they're so bendy. Red chick is articulated well enough other than her elbows. It'd be great if she had ball-joint hips, but she's still better than 90% of all other SW figs at least. |

I'm liking what I see with these Imperial Knights. Have to keep an eye out for that one myself. |

I am waiting until I can get a Darth Talon loose from ebay. Don't really care about the Cade Skywalker. Might treat myself to teh Imperial Knights pack. Just read Force Unleashed. Some interesting characters in there. |

It was the elbows (or lack of any) that made me pass on Talon a couple months back. But my interest in SW has increased enough of late that i'd probably pick up that pack if i saw it again! Hope you're enjoying your trip Chief! |
