So if you were running the Joe line back in the 80's,.. what would you have created for the line?

my ideas:

1) A Space Shuttle for Cobra.

Why have all those Astro Vipers and TARGETs, but nothing for them to ride in? The Joes had THREE shuttles, but all cobra had was the invader jet and that bootleg Space Pogo, and the Joes even stole the jet idea.

2) Individual Dreadnok Bikes

this was a no brainer....

3) Destro's Caste

Joes Got two Bases, Cobra has 1 1/2 (they coulf have done better with the missile base) destro deserved a place to hang his facemask.

your thoughs?

Definitely a Cobra space base or shuttle.

I would have done a token female each year.

I would have made a new character a big deal in the line/Done character updates as the norm.

And had a more symbiotic relationship between the toys and the cartoon and comics.
Red Star was the first comic inspired figure (if I'm not mistaken) and I was SOOOO excited to see it even though at the time my Joe interest was waning (in face Ithink Red Star and Incinerator were the last figs I bought at reatil back in the day)

Destro's castle would have been cool, but for some reason, I always saw Destro as more comic book a villain than the rest, so I wanted him to have a space station fortress.

Beyond that, I just wanted a lot of stuff I saw in the comics and cartoon: General Flagg, the giant slave man, the cobra shaped robots, etc.

I do agree on the castle. Cobra just yearned for a castle.

Actually, I believe Baroness was the first comic-inspired figure, appearing in the comics for a couple of years before her figure came out.

I agree that a Cobra Space Shuttle would have been a good idea. I also would've seen to it that that Cobra Transport Copter that appeared more than a few times in the comics got turned into a toy.

Definitely individual Dreadnok Bikes. That three-wheeled thing was a little too bizarre, and the recolored RAM in the Sears set just didn't quite cut it.

I've never been entirely impressed with G.I.Joe bases. The best pseudo-headquarters in my opinion was the Mobile Command Center. The problem has always been that it's just not possible to make a full headquarters large enough despite the potential play value.

I would've seen to it that Big Lob and Pythona were turned out as figures, as well as the original Oktober Guard (whom I realize we have now).

More female characters, and maybe a few more Dreadnoks.

A big Cobra boat to take on the Flagg. Not as big as the Flagg mind you but bigger than a Moray.

Better yet, the big airship from the opening theme scenes. Make it so it 'lands' in water like the Yamato or Bebop so you've got the best of both worlds. And yes, make it actually floatable.

In reality, I would've made this about 3-4 feet long with a small pilot/control cabin in the snake head, like the Rolling Thunder or ROCC has, with the main body having removeable panels on the top so you can look down into the multiple rooms, while it's still floating.

My idea: Mindbender lab with Serpentor gestation tubes and a small BAT assembly area, like some of the Deluxe AOTC sets that hooked up to the Geonosis playset. Like the ToxoLab without the top level and a bit wider. And not in puketastic colors or with dumb gimmicks.

Amen. This is a toy loooooong overdue. Cobra Helo-Pilot included, of course.

Also....I know when I was a kid, I always built my own Cobra Sea Base out of books, blocks, spare toy parts, etc. I had the Transportable Battle Platform, Flagg and Whale for the Joes. Cobra needed somewhere to stage out of!

Although totally impractical, a USS Jane would have been cool....

1. I also think Cobra should have had more of a space arsenal then just the Stellar Stiletto.

2. Allways thought Cobra needed a true fighter jet. As much as I like the Rattler and Night Raven. The Night raven might get away because of its speed but I just dont see either of them winning an air to air fight with a conquest or skystriker. And no the python patrol repaing conquest does not count.

3. I would love to see a russian style tank and Hind hellicopter for the Oktober Guard

4. I would have turned that giant flying cobra aircraft carrier hellicopter from the toon into a toy.

I always thought the Hurricane filled that roll. Was a very cool looking jet for a 90s release.

I would have to go with something big for Cobra too. Ether the airship or space station idea.

I'm really not to sure on adding much, as I would like to change stuff.

I agree, Mindbender should have had a Lab way before that Toxolab.

Another one: Why did niether Cobra Commander NOR Serpentor Ever get a decent Throne? I figured one shouldve came with the Imperial Presession set. Especially the Cool one Serpentor had in the movie (With the teeth that shot spikes!)

I agree on the C-10 Tansport plane. but even better: The Cobra Transport plane with the snake head for a forward design from the cartoon.

I would've made those playsets:

The mass devise with components :D

Arashikage dojo playset with Hard Master

Destro's castle with 2 IG.

Brainwave machine with Dr Venom

A Springfield house with furniture that rotates to reveal secret computers and hidden weapons with a Fred in civilian clothes with rubber CG chest plate, boots and helmet.

Sierra Leone radio hut with table, old radio, chair and two soldiers

Flint's red convertible from the episode where Lady J's goes to Scotland.

Some "furniture" kits like:

Cobra throne room with snake throne, cobra flags and red carpet

Cobra control room with giant computer and some chairs just like in the cartoon

Mindbender's lab with tables, computers and Serpy's generation tube.

well,.. That goes without saying,......

Big Lob, Pythona, Dr. Venom, Bongo the Balloon Bear, The Hard and Soft Master, Fred II, The Original General Flagg, and General Austin all would have had figures before the Battle Corps ever debued,... or would have been part of it.

oh,.. and ALL the cold weather battle Corps troops (Snowstorm, Frostbite) would have had a Snowboard like Icebergs!

A modular base. Each box contains a one room play set for $19.99. Collect all five connect them together for massive playset.
