Do they just put in an order for 25th Joes in general, or are they able to order by specific waves? I'm wondering because my Wal-Mart has made it up to '08 wave 5 once, but Friday, they refreshed the pegs with about four or more cases of wave 3, which were beginning to warm the pegs from the previous refreshes. I'm wondering why waves 4 and/or 5 weren't refreshed instead, to remain up-to-date. Meh, at least I was able to get another HISS driver, but now there are over 20 Snake Eyes figures alone, so I don't expect any current wave refreshes anytime soon.

From the way I've heard and the way it was when I worked there, they just scan the UPC that is in front of the peg and they order however many THEY decide they want to have up there. There was a new Toys Department Mgr at the closest one I go to and all he was doing was having 1 case for 4 pegs. I told him "bro you know these come in cases of 8 you have 4 pegs, you get one case in and MOST are gone by the time they are put up, so why don't you order more than 8 for 4 pegs?" He agreed and ordered 24 to come in the next time. Unfortunately they can't pick and choose which ones they get. Its just a general Joe figure UPC# on the pegs and they order however many like I said earlier. I have YET to see ANY of wave 9 here in the Denver metro area I'm living in, and I've checked 4 wal marts and 3 targets almost always. :(

Here is my understanding from a bud of mine who works in management in WM.

Basicly the distro house orders from Hasbro (or whatever company). there are tons of distrohouses accross the country. Bsicly linked a a central center in cali somewhere (not sure if this is Hasbros or WM's). Anyway orders for each store go to the distro houses, the distro houses order from the main hub. Orders are shipped to distro and to the store. If an item proves to sell ut another order is plaed to the distro house and then to the hub in cali, if the item is gone, then the order is cancelled.

NOW comes in the whole Wave 2 and 3 thing. So last year a bunch of orders were cancelled for both. Suddenly this year (either hasbro made more, or found more, rumors are persistant on this and the truth seems to be lost on that part of the story) but there wer more wave 2 and 3 and those cancelled orders were shipped. This also happened at my local comic shop too, he never remade the order.

Now irriguardless of how the figures were found or redone ect, I thought it was a crappy thing to do to the comic owner especially who is now stuck with stuff that people already grabed at WM and that he ordered last year but was told would never get, replanned his money, then got them a year later and is stuck with them apparently.

But yeah Wave 2 and 3 have been popping up everywhere.

Well according to what I was just told, they've now had to change how they are getting stock. This I guess goes with the new way they have remodeled and such. They are no longer ordering anything. Wal-Mart is supposedly watching the stock and shipping to stores based on what they feel should be stocked. a store can request items, but they can't order items. This is pretty much like how most stores are doing things now. It sucks for everyone all around actually.

That is exactly how Target is ordering I know. But according to the new DM that I talked to he was still able to order stuff. But who knows. I'll have to talk to my Co-Mgr buddy and see if he can tell me for sure about Wally World. :shifty:

That sucks. It sucks even more that Wallyworld is doing it. At what point are people, at the store level, able to say to those in charge: "Uh, guys? We've had empty pegs for weeks now. Can we get some product?"

Well I know with that system of corporate sending whatever based off your sales, a manager can call or send an email saying "we're low on such and such with several requests for new stock". It seems that more results happen when a customer sends in complaints or requests to the coroporate level than someone that works for the company making a request though.

This is how TRU does it as well.

It works out pretty well and there ARE ways to get what you need if you know how to work it ;)

1-800-walmart (925-6278). You can call that # and tell about your shopping experiences at wal mart. Tell them about how they never have enough Joe product in and it gets to the higher ups. I called that # and told them about the new Toy Dept Mgr refusing to go look for anything cause he was too busy and would never find it. It got all the way up to the President the Co-Mgr that called told me and he told them to talk to the dept mgr immediately. So calling does help.

From a WM insider's point of view (being one) the computer system orders as needed. We can manually order more, but that doesn't mean we'll get the latest assortment. Joes, Star Wars and TF and many other toylines are ordered through assembly(which basically means it can take 2 to 5 weeks to get it once we order it. I prodded our toy department manager to order several cases because her pegs were always low. Hoping to get some newer stuff, all the ordered cases ended up being wave 4 (the multi-pack single-carded wave).

To add to the confusion, this Wal-Mart got in about five cases of wave 4 R2 over the past couple of days. I'm not complaining though, as I needed Rock&Roll and snow bunny Snake Eyes.

I just started there about a month ago and was told that it's by sales and on hand counts. As the item sales the computer system keeps track and when it supposedly gets to a low enough # it automatically orders more. The dumb thing though is the one I work at has had the same buzzer figure for 3 or 4 months with no new joes ever stocked in the single cards but a couple days ago in the go back(return) cart there was a tiger force flint and the same wave baroness so there are 3 there now but I'm pretty sure the 2 were a return from another store cuz targets got that wave in about a week beforehand.I am gonna talk to the store mgr. at my store and see if he can order more though and he said he beleive you can't make $ if you don't have the product on the shelves.
