The Wal-Mart closest to me has commenced its fall reset. I reported on Target recently. I wish I could say that the Wal-Mart reset was optimistic, but -- while I suppose it depends on your toy preferences, it wasn't terribly impressive as far as I was concerned.

Three rows dedicated to G.I.Joe. One for single figures, one for comic packs, one for 12" figures.

Tons of space dedicated to Transformers, but I saw no shelf tags that said "Universe" on them.

Quite a bit of space dedicated to Indiana Jones and Star Wars. Okay, that's not such a bad thing.

Quite a bit of space dedicated to Batman and the Hulk. Frankly, I could care less, especially since I saw NO space dedicated to general DC or Marvel merchandise, and the few Marvel Legends figures they had were on clearance.

Barely any space dedicated to Power Rangers. Okay, I know a lot of people in here don't like them. I do. I know Jungle Fury has had a little trouble catching on, but what really bothered me about this was two things -- they stuck the Rangers in almost as an afterthought in the same aisle as stuff like Pokemon and Digimon, and there was almost twice as much space dedicated to something called Bakugan, which as far as I can tell doesn't even look like an action figure line!

This has been a Wal-Mart that I would say has a decent if not overwhelming action figure section, and I've generally fared reasonably well there. Now -- I'm not so sure.

I think the full-on reset takes effect tomorrow, so I suppose we should all see some more toys on the pegs then. My Wal-mart set up three or four pegs for single pack Joes, and I think two or three for comic packs. And some good news for me is that they put four pegs right next to the Joe section for the Halo figures. That means I won't have to pace back and forth through the aisle looking for everything I like.

And today the reset continued, with a HUGE blank space with a couple of signs declaring that Star Wars toys go on sale at 12:01 Am on 7/26/2008.

I may drop by tomorrow, although my toy budget is very limited. I owe a friend of mine a couple of favors. But I ain't goin' at 12:01 AM! 8-O

I checled one of my local WM's and the reset is done, nothing new out yet for anything. But I did check a Target which also did the reset and they did have the Joe vehicles & DVD packs, JLU, and DC Infinates out.

Check other places in the toy department. One of the local Wal-mart's has two isles of action figures; one isle has the bulk of TF product (Animated, movie, etc.), while the other one has TF Universe stuff.

Only one Wal-mart around here has begun their reset. They've got space for Joes, but little actual content. Some 12 inchers, comic sets, and a few single packs (Jetpack Duke & Viper). They do have two sections covered in plastic baggies - Star Wars merchandise. Had a chance to get up-close and personal with "Legacy" Clone Armor Obi-Wan at the store yesterday... I wasn't that impressed. I thought the "Legacy" line was for non-animated style figures? Obi-wan sure looked like his animated counterpart to me.

I'm hoping that the closest Super Wallyworld gets on the ball tonight. They hadn't done a thing this morning, so I don't know where they're going to put the big SW push. Hell, even TRU hadn't managed to clear isle space and they're having the huge midnight madness thing. I don't really care about the SW stuff (space issues *sigh*), but I keep hoping that we'll see some 25th figures put out as well. I needs me a TF Flint.
