Problem with this is that on a toy this disrupts the lines of the figure. ie the bump in the 25th A figures. Plus you don't bend mid ribs anyway, its more mid gut. Still though this is toys we are talking about not people.
Very true, it should be slightly lower, however it's far better than the waist joint which doesn't allow realistic movement at all.

THat is why traditionally they bend at the waist, there is a disruption to the lines anyway (Useually in the form of pants) and thus the eyeline isn't disrupted in an abmormal way. With mid chest articulation, it is and very badly I might add. If it weren't for the webgear on some 25thA they wouldn't be nearly as nice, even still that does sort of ruin the figue since you know its there, even if it is masked (ie Gung ho)
But I will say it looks like they are going out of thier way to mold the chest joint better than they did with the Joes, which makes it much more tollerable. Its the difference between Duke and Destro. Duke has a massive bump where as Destro is molded as a natural part of his body, as such destro is much more pleasing to look at than duke. As long as the Marvels stick to "The Destro" form like they appear to be, It can work. If they go the Duke route it will ruin some potetnally great figures.
To each their own I guess. I have NO problem with the chest joint at all. In fact I wish EVERY figure had one. Star Wars and Indy I'm looking at you!
While I would much rather they hide the joints, it's prety hard to do on smoother figures. And if it comes down to a line across the chest or the ability to bend and swivel naturally, give me the line every time.

The bodies used for the HOF figures are much like the GIJCC itself, old, rigid, and unmoveable.
