So I'm in for the three figures level.

Just curious if anyone has put any thought into what you will use these as, in your own 'verse.

The Desert Ops has a BF2K look to him.
The Urban Ops has a Retaliation Cobra Trooper look.
The Night Ops has a mercenary team feel.

Your thoughts?

The Urban Ops guys looked like Firefly henchmen. In my Joeverse Firefly actually heads a mercenary team that does contract work for Cobra and other terrorist groups. I did this because there were so many good versions of Firefly, and I didn't want to settle on just one.

If I could find Asian heads, I was thinking of using the Green troops as ChiCom soldiers to go with PTEs ChiCom vehicles. Although I'd prefer regular boots to the armoured ones.

In two minds about this at the minute. Love the idea, especially all the accessories that can be bought.

The only figures that I would interested in would be the night ops and also the red figure. The former for SAS figures and the latter for Red Shadows. Neither have photos and one is a long way off on the stretch target. Also I'd love to see a comparison photo between the figures and existing toy lines.

I will probably go for 3 night ops figures and one of the stretch target accessory bundles depending on what's available.

Anyone know what the deal will be in getting stuff after the kickstarter from the main MGR website? Does it depend on how much they raise now?

The "Bro" stretch goal is met! This project is a juggernaut. It's a big leap to the Colonial Marine figure, but damn I hope we get there. That would open up a whole new 1:18 scale world for me (the NECA Aliens Marines are phenomenal, just too big).

The green figure is what I'm really after here; the other colors are great, and I'll be happy to have them, but that green dude is the star of the show, for obvious reasons. 25 days, roughly $13,000...I've got my fingers crossed that some kind-hearted but late-arriving customizers will jump in.

This is such a huge project for the hobby as a whole, though: the oft-discussed concept of mass-produced boutique 1:18 figures is finally a reality. If this turns out to be a viable business model (and the amount of money that Kickstarter has already generated certainly makes it seem like it is), the possibilities are endless.

I think you make a good point. Also, people will have an idea of how much extra "hobby money" they'll have after the Con.

Maybe you should ask MJ about adding a Asian head into the stretch goals... he said something on Hisstank about adding a African-American and Hispanic heads into stretch goals......

Hey! Yes, if we start to hit stretch goals can look at adding the African-American and Hispanic-American heads to a planned stretch goal or part of a "new" stretch goal. Also, the "balaclava" heads with the eye openings (green, black, tan, gray, etc.). Just comes down to the projects momentum.

:lol: funny - I did the exact same thing with my multiple Firefly figs. But the Urban Ops guy actually reminds me more of Alley Viper v5 (http://www.yojoe.com/action/02/alleyviper5.shtml).

But I suppose the whole point of these figs is that you can envision a whole host of characters with all the different body/gear/head combos. ;-)
