I really wish the subscription service would have been around a few years ago when the Club was still releasing O-ring figures. If they put out a FSS with ARAH style O-rings I would be all over it. I know that I am in a very small minority, and I know that it makes business sense for them to use ME style figures at this point, but becasue of that I will not be participating in the Club's FSS.

I started my own personal FSS when I purchased 12 custom figures off a fellow Joe customizer, and for a quarter of the cost the Club is charging.

My advice to anybody that wants at least half, may as well do it if you have the money. I don't know what the resale will be for these, but most places like BBTS and all are asking $40 or more. If you ask $30, you undercut these places, but still get more than you paid back. I just think Sure Fire and a few others will be "peg warmers" though.

That would be the smart thing. However, judging by recent history, many Joe collectors will piss and moan about the cost of the Club figures, or the Club itself, or how they have to buy twelve figures, etc., and then later on will pay around $100 each for Big Boa, or Cover Girl, or Dice, or Jinx.

Not to mention what they're gonna pay for that 13th figure, if it's someone desirable.

I am going to pass on the FSS.

If it were three years ago, I would probably have jumped all over it with a better economy and a desire to "own single figure and version." But with the declining economy, I am finding other things to do with my dollars, and my collecting has evolved to be much more picky, my enthusiasm also.

The latest Retaliation offerings really cinched it for me, they just did not get me excited (not for the price, the articualtion, or the accesories), and I reflected that the FSS also really just does not get me excited. I am not saying the price is too high, just that FOR ME, the price is more than I am willing to pay, and I am in a different collecting mindset that does not include these.

I wish the club the best of luck in moving these, and hope it is successful so that I can reevaluate where I am if it succeeds enough for a 2nd FSS offering.

This pretty much sums it up for me as well. I was looking at my collection while I was doing some customising over the weekend. I realised that I have customs of most of the FSS figures. I like my customs better than what the Club is offering (that's not a knock on them, they are working with a different set of rules). My customs are more unique, so more special to me than just buying overpriced figures. At this point, I'd rather spend 300$ on 40-50 fodder figures than on 13 Club figures. I know that I'll get a lot more joy out of my hobby then.

That is exactly how I feel. There is something far more satisfying about sitting back, looking at a custom and thinking: "I made that!" than just buying something.

I got the invoice. Factoring in the 13th figures, shipping cost, and the $3, it's $25.30 a figure exactly. Really what we've come to know from the club, that's not exactly too far fetched to have expected. They're charging $30 for the carded Footloose. It's still well within a higher bracket to make a collector think before purchasing, but the "per figure" total does show it isn't way above what the club has been offering.

Wish I had the scratch to pay the full amount now. I'm reluctant to do the payment plan option, but it's all I can do. If only it were open for another week. . .

Still I really want half of the figures, and like the rest, so I might as well.

I like about half the figures, mostly the same figures as everyone else who likes about half the figures. I can't justify it or any other sub service at this point. I'm happy for you guys who can and hopefully I can buy a few of the figs I want but I'm not going to worry about them unless they make a couple of characters I really want to have. Those I will try to make a deal with someone who is wiling to sell.

I need Dice and Nano BAT. I want Sure Fire, Big Boa, Grunt, TNT, and Jinx. The rest are all so "LASER BLAST" meh.

ARGH! I want to subscribe to get them but it's the rest of my toy budget for remainder of 2012 and first quarter 2013, new baby is due in Feb and all things are tight.

I don't even want Dice.

Well. I want a Dice. But not the Club's. I tried the fit of that webgear on that torso (using CP Storm Shadow and Aqua-Viper Officer) and it was a floppy mess. And the head underneath looks pretty doofy, hair and eye-wise. I'm much more interested in Hasbro's Legends Of The Arashikage version.

A lot of the rest are nice toys, but "retail price" nice, not "2.5 times the retail price on top of signing up for the Club" nice.

I do prefer the club one, but what head do you think that is under there? It almost looks like DTC Mutt to me.

I was hoping they might take the opportunity to make an Aero-Viper head because that would be perfect under that mask to match the original Dice.

Looked like DTC Mutt to me too, which would make him pinheaded. Still, I like the look better than the Concept Case one, and this one is actually happening, so . . . Plus, if I can match the skintone a headswap is easy enough.
