So it's a GL centric line then.
Then the hunt is off. Let me know if they make Batman.

Mhmmm ...mhmmmm

Sold.

John Stewart and Atrocitus? Yes.

Larfleeze? So long as they add his holiday sugar cookie recipe in the package. I need those cookies.

I'm not a huge GL fan by any stretch but quality 1:18th figures are not to be passed.

I can't imagine they're serious about trying to sell these solely at comic conventions. The attendance ratio to the possible market share is laughably small. Might as well sell them thru Target but only to French albinos.

The DCC Panel ended and they said if the figures sell out then this is an ongoing line. Hopefully that mean available through Diamond.

Aw man! Atrocitus! I didn't realize it meant GL themed line. Even better! One of the few DC characters I really enjoy.

  • Good chance they will make the Green Lantern Oa playset on display here at SDCC for their 3.75" figures.
  • The 3.75" Green Lantern figures shown at the booth are being shown to see how much interest there is in a line. They've talked about doing Batman ones next maybe even with a Batcave playset.
  • The 3.75" figures if they sell out this weekend, they will go forward. These exclusives are being used to test the market.
  • 6" scale isn't going away because of the 3.75"

The last question is stupid! The 6 inch crowd is really paranoid.

Oh these will sell out no doubt.

Of course the 6 inch crowd is paranoid many toy companies are moving towards the smaller scale.

True but they illogically turn their rage at the 3.75 inch line.

For what its worth....I spoke with a DC rep tonight and he told me that if the two packs sell well at sdcc and nycc, they will sell these figures at direct sales locations...there is no Mattel ban on 3 3/4 figures.

They really want to produce the play set...thought to be about $150.

The new DCC 3.75″ line MIGHT NOT end up as a con only line. They want to hear the feedback on that at the show. If this first set sells really well at the show they will know there is a market for it. They started out with the Green Lantern universe, but they plan to expand it to their on line stores. But the “Con Only” is not set in stone.

So a line with well articulated figures of diverse characters within the property's universe? No WAY that can work. Never. Some toy genius needs to set them straight. The only way a real toy company would produce this line is by having 10:1 Hal Jordans. I mean, he isn't even in the first wave. How can it possibly succeed?

 :-P

That last round of news is really excited. And I just peed a little bit at the possibility of a Batcave as cool as the Oa playset.

I can't attend any cons because I'm poor and Houston sucks as a Con locale; but I'll be there to show whatever financial support I can to see this stuff succeeds (assuming it's made well - how does DCD nowadays?). I could see throwing $150 at that Oa set, maybe.

Oh, hang on; I just clicked thru the galleries. Well, there's another entire section of stuff I don't need to customize any more.

Batman and a cool Batcave.
Yes!
If they have them on their website, I'll buy them.

I won't argue that, but it seems like a lot of rage is illogically placed in this hobby.
