I'm guessing you missed the pics of the MIP versions linked about a week ago or something?

my buddy has stated that he will stand in line for these...so, hoping that they have enough on hand I am getting around 5. I have a few placed aside for those special lads here at the boards..(Beav you are one) And he'll keep me posted about home many and if there is a limit. ALSO..my whole budget is going to these things like $250

I'm sure I'll never own one (not an SDCC version anyway), but those are all kinds of awesome!

Hate to burst your bubble but unless they change their policy this year you're buddy is most likely only going to get 2 or 3 total depending on the limit they set (and if previous limits are any indication it'll be limit 2) and that limit is per badge and you have to have a person with each badge, can't just take your friends in line with you, they have to be there with it. That's why I love Amanda so much, she stood in that horrific line with me last year and went through the crowded corral and got her badge stamped so I could get a few extras of the Joe figures.

Unless your buddy is an exhibitor and gets in before the show. I heard they didn't limit the number exhibitors were able to buy the last few years. And good luck getting an exhibitor badge. I've spent the last month calling in all the favors I have with folks that might be able to get one and I've come up with nothing.

SDCC 12" Baroness - $29.99
SDCC 3 3/4" Destro 2-pack - $24.99

Production runs on both TBD.

This page about half way down.

Plus sales tax if you're getting them at the convention. I forget how much the sales tax is in San Diego County but L.A. just went up to just under 10% (9.75%).

is it safe to assume these can't be preordered like Gentle Giant?

Oh if only. Yeah you have to brave the crowd and whatever system they put in place this year to get in line. Last year it was with a ticket for a specific time period (unless you sprinted to the booth when they open the exhibit floor). This year? Who knows.

ToyRocket has been putting these up on Ebay. They're pre-ordering. I went ahead ane went with them. With all the extra costs assuming I could fight the crowd on HasbroToyShop, and assuming they would even make it on there, I'm actually only paying them $9 more. I'm fine with that to avoid the problems.

After seeing a lot of these companies go in to these conventions, I have no doubt they'll fill the order. I've sold at a convention and saw the "store sites" do business. They get there before the crowd comes in and arrange for how many they need and they're pulled. When you see those guys coming out with boxes before the convention even starts, you assume maybe they just tried to pack too much in. No usually that's the exclusives getting packed up. Unless that site screws me, there should be no headache this time with it.

I've heard mixed things about ToyRocket. Never done business with them myself but have heard of others having problems.

And yeah, dealers get to "shop" before the convention opens. That's why I'm calling in all my favors to get in early and not have to deal with the lines.

What kind of "mixed dealings"? I didn't have any problems a few years back with the McQ concept exclusives they had for pre-order. Would still prefer BBTS though, just used to them more.

Some good, some bad and some shady, like putting up preorders for items they don't have guaranteed to come in. Like I said, haven't dealt with them myself, just basing this off what others have said about them.
