At an additional $115 and held on Wednesday and Thursday before the Con I wonder how many other people would be interested.

Kind of like the speculation on Longarm being part of the SWAT Team. Here we have a case along the same lines as Mega-Viper - to - Swamp Viper. Nice figure but ye gods, that color scheme. I like Longaarm just fine, but YOW, that orange!

You assume they have another year left before Hasbro pulls the plug... Might as well go out with a bang. ;-)

Why would Hasbro do that? That would be a bad and stupid move on their (Hasbro's) part. The Club is going great, the conventions are doing great, and they (the Club) have a good relation with Hasbro, oh and the Transformers Club is going great too.

I do wonder if there will be a shift in the convention figures next year with the movie. I wonder if we might see something with 25th style figureds mixed in.

For this year set, I really like the sounds of it. Hoping Gristle has his original chest mold. Also hopping to see the Headhunter mold for the HH Commanders. Though I wonder what their 3 3/4" Sky BAT will be for the paradrop.

Have we gone to the same conventions? G.I. Joe? They sell little plastic dudes there? Because "great" is one of the last words I'd tie most of the conventions I've been at.

Beav vs. Pink Ticket = Ultimate Phail.

I think the set well rule. They used the word "vintage" in reference to the BAT figures in the brochure. I hope vintage means the mold is 20+ years old (1986, V1) and not just 15+ (1991, V2). I will get my hopes up and assume these will be V1 molds. I was right about the Maulers being the Con veh last year, I am going with my gut again.

I am getting the absentee and the bagged along with whatever 2 or 3 fig SWAT set is available and any Con veh they put out. Go me!!

So we can look forward to finding out three months after the fact that the handlers broke the BAT v1 mold and that's why no BATs were included in the Con set?

Hehehe.

Well I was right about the fact that the club INTENDED for the veh to be the Mauler. But no one could have predicted they would ever PHAIL that hardcore at reproducing the thing. I mean, they have phaild before, but never like that.

I will have my fingers crossed though.

Hopefully the mold handlers have been taking their anti-phail meds this year.

well, if i can chime in...

ive been to a million conventions since 1990. as a seller, we used to do conventions every weekend in los angeles and san diego for years, from 1991 to 2001. as a buyer, ive been to a million conventions as well, including james desimones GI Joe conventions of the 90s.

i can honestly say that MCs conventions are the only ones that i truly enjoy. im sure that meeting and hanging with the JC guys make up a large % of my enjoyment. as a dealer, the set up, sign up and overall treatment by master collector really isnt bad. they do everything they promise to do, at the beginning of each con brian walks around to meet and greet everyone to see if we need anything. beyond that, they stay out of our way -which is what i prefer.

are there some things they can do better? absolutley, but overall i would say they overall rank them among the better run conventions ive been a part of. as far as MC as a collector club goes, this is the only one ive ever been a part of, but plan to join the transformers one soon. overall, my experiences have been fine. the mauler thing did suck, but crap happens. since they obviously have a ton of money into them already, i suspect theyll continue the work on them and release them at a future date, or perhaps hasbro will. theyre not going to simply take the loss.
