No, not they couldn't ever really have been great. This is Mattel and the highest hope they ever had was to attain 'mediocre'.

Yea leave it to Mattel to get a great idea of hey everyone else is jumping to the scale so lets go there as well only to not get the memo that fans these days like their action figures to actually have a bit of movement to them. Wow 80's Star Wars articulation that's so cool.

Those would of been crap back in 1990 as well. I'm still laughing at the Hawkman and Thanagarian guards, someone over there at Mattel likes the male anatomy a bit too much.

All in all I'm waiting to see if they tone down the gloss, improve the sculpts and add some articulation. These may be very very early prototypes but then again they may not be. I've been impressed with Mattel's DC Universe line so far so I'm giving them some leeway that they may improve the figures a bit.

Great sculpting but terrible articulation.

Yup.

And Supergirl? Umm...
Clearly Mattel's figured out this line's not marketed towards kids. :shifty:

Mattel's statement about the new line,

Quote:
Glad to see so many fans excited about the new Infinite Heroes line! We've had this one cooked up for a while now and are very please to finally reveal it to the fans.

This line will be a 3 3/4 scale line. Some of the figures you see on display are prototypes only. (and not all have the articulation built in yet) The exact figures which will be in wave 1 and 2 of Infinite Heroes will also be revealed at NY Comic Con.

'Bug, care to give the text you find interesting? Your link goes to TNI's main page.

And this statement is the usual BS. What they call 'excitement', I call 'vocal disappointment'. Of course *some* of the figs are only prototypes, we can see they're statues with no articulation built in. It's the one that *do* have the articulation shown that piss us off as the articulation is piss-poor and completely inferior to what the standard is today. Mattel just plain-old absolutely 100% sucks at boys toys.

OK it was just a teaser before they put up the pics.

I agree the ones that have articulation aren't that great. However as they will be the only 3 3/4 inch of DC figures I will get them. Hopefully none will have old Star Wars articulation. If they didn't have the shoulder ball articulation I probably wouldn't have bothered. If only Microman was still around.?
Oh and do you happen to have an e-mail address where I can send my vocal disappointment?

Who're these three people I've circled? I presume the bald guy between the bottom two circled is Luthor, right?

And WTF is with all the chicks having karate-chop hands? Again: GOD, MATTEL SUCKS.

The chick next to Luthor could be Vixen - although it looks like she's wearing a mask. The others, I have no idea.

Bottom two are Aquaman and Kitana, I think. No clue on the top one.
