So they might have a poster? Maybe a banner that says GI Joe 1964 - 2014?

As long as they keep GI Joe as another movie line, it won't live, it'll only survive.

So, who all is ready to go to the New York village of Ballston Spa, find a psychotherapist named Tearle Ashby and kicking his butt for saying "The stuff they put out now is garbage."
One geek on the jury and we'd get off with "justifiable."

Another link where it says they will announce their plans at Toy Fair. As to what those plans may be, we'll just have to see. Friend of mine who follows the business side of the toy world sent me the link.

As for some of the other stuff, I wouldn't expect them to announce everything in a very basic press release. I'd like to think we'll see some interesting product in the Marvel, Star Wars, and Transformers lines, as well.

Maybe they're working on a deal to adapt OB's 50th Anniversary project.

That is the same article just from another news service.

"GI Joe turns 50" was one of the trending topics on my Facebook homepage this morning. Didn't click the link but I assume its this same AP article.

Justin picked it up too and has a good perspective on it over at GeneralsJoes.

I wouldn't be surprised if they showed nothing, but I would be disappointed. I love the line. It's kind of sad that everyone is like, "and I don't really care." It's your fault you didn't buy 157 wave one Snake Eyes! Obviously, that's a joke. Just sad Hasbro has zapped enthusiasm for this toyline.

I know it sounds crazy, but I'm really thinking there's something to Joe thriving in a conservative political environment combined with relative peace. Its two periods of flourishing were during more conservative times politically, yet no one was reminded of unfortunate events worldwide as our military was relatively at peace and not deployed all over the place.

Sometimes its hard to be enthusiastic for parents over reminders of difficult times. And parents hold the checkbook after all - but I could be reading too much into it.

There was a brief mention on Fox Business this morning about Joe turning 50. It was brief and said plans will be announced at Toy Fair. So maybe Hasbro will surprise us, in a good way.

I'm really doubtful. All signs were pointing to that even before they left GI Joe off the Toy Fair tour. Currently there is no GI Joe team or even a single designer working on GI Joe. Even the Boss Fight, former Hasbro designers, are saying not to get your hopes up this year.

With the many Marvel movies and the upcoming burst of Star Wars stuff that will invade the aisles for the new movies, can we really be surprised by this fact?
Hasbro has gone Hollywood.

But hey, don't worry fans, GI Joe can live on, thanks to YOU!
