This is very true that they are under a microscope but their own actions put them there. They just didn't have a single failure, it is a long history of repeated failures, missteps, and screw ups. Many people, including myself, have simply come to expect them to do it again. And if we the consumers simply start accepting these screw ups, the club will never try to improve. They have to keep being reminded of these things. If I had made mistakes like they have of their severity and frequency in my own job, I would have been fired by now. And this isn't just the GIJoe side. The Transformers club members will tell you of problems, some unique to their club, some shared with us.

I realize that there have been problems. But when I read people complaining about a $3 processing fee, I have to think that the community is creating a sea of petty complaints. If legitimate complaints are to be addressed, will it really help to have those in charge tired of hearing our whining?

I have also been in the Transformers club every year since they have had it. And I still think that the way they have handled things has been far better than the previous license holder.

You have to be a member because these are being offered by the club to their members. Why is that such a hard concept to grasp? Mattel offers theirs to everyone because they aren't a club that you have to be a member of to participate. If the Joe club were to offer these to everyone, that would kind of defeat the purpose of them offering it to begin with.

Oh, I understand why you have to be a member, but it just adds to the price for someone like me, as I would only be joining to be able to buy something, which is just way too stupid to me for me to do, even ignoring everything the club is and does. If you take advantage of the other stuff, then it isn't really an added expense, but to me, it is.

If there are people who want to get the subscription but don't want to get a Club membership, I would potentially be willing to help. PM me to discuss further.

As far as the 13th figure goes, don't forget about this image that leaked out a while ago. A hoax to throw people off? Maybe. But I don't see the club spending money on getting an artist to do this work just for a gag.

That could also be for the second sub.

Skystriker would be a VERY unexciting 13th figure and an unpleasant surpise IMO.

Blackout and Bombstrike should be in FSS wave 2. So should Crosshair, the Club's own Demolishor, and a repaint of 30th Sci-Fi in 1991 colors.

I think I'll pass. I can make half-assed customs on my own.

That Skystriker pic wasn't posted by the club. it was made by someone who posted it to facebook. If it did anything, it just gave the club the chance to see reactions to that character. But it wasn't something they put out there.

I would be pleasantly surprised to see Big Brawler in the second batch.

It would be neat, but I'd hope for the Christopher Lowell look... they'd go for the Valor vs Venom look though I bet.

Well if they do do Big Brawler, they'll probably play it straight, though. Something Outback-y but with Clutch's head or somesuch design.

But the way things are going I expect no one will know who it is until it shows up in their mailboxes along with the other two SURPRISE YOU WON'T KNOW WHO IT IS TILL YOU GET IT figures.

Actually, after the fifth month, it won't be a surprise which two will be sent next.

Ehh, I think the secrecy plays into their hands, in this instance. People that are afraid they're gonna miss an important character may be influenced to buy the sub. And if they DO make an important character as the mystery 13th, it'll just drive that many more buyers for FSS V2.

Been thinking about this all weekend and honestly can't decide what to do.

I want about half the figures and am reasonably certain the ones I don't want other folk will be looking for in trades or on the secondary market. But they still priced these about as high as they possibly could.

I'm going on vacation next week. Should be back a few days before e deadline. I'll decide when I get back.

My advice to anybody that wants at least half, may as well do it if you have the money. I don't know what the resale will be for these, but most places like BBTS and all are asking $40 or more. If you ask $30, you undercut these places, but still get more than you paid back. I just think Sure Fire and a few others will be "peg warmers" though.
