Also I don't like the two-piece head. If they do a Night Creeper I'd rather see some sort of do-over instead of a newer body with the same old pieces.

I'd like to see a new take on the Ninja Force version myself.

My point wasn't that the zombie set had a bunch of new tooling and the ninja set didn't. I just think most of the ninja set is just ninja figures already released wearing ninja gear already released. We've had red, white and black ninjas -- and will get more in the retaliation line. A lot more. The only new thing I see in the ninja box set concept is a blue ninja and two green ninjas.

Were people clambering for that?

Ninja with a skull face? Cool. Full on samurai? Awesome. Crazy ninja a la dark ninja master from Sigma Six? Sign me up. Paint renegades storm shadow gold, teal and green? I just don't need that.

The zombie set at least gives people who are into the zombie set a bunch of parts that the line hasn't had since the nineties. I think the comments here about it's time having come and gone may be right, but it's still more new than the ninja set.

ok, and i'm just spitballing here, but what if... what if they took the renegades storm shadow, and painted it white? would that sell??

There's only one Renegades Storm Shadow in there and he's painted gold. And is a total homage to a classic ninja kung fu flick. It is a thing of beauty.
There are no teal and green Renegades Storm Shadows in that set. They have a wide variety of different bodies, and the two green ones are pure awesome.

I can never have enough modern articulated (post 25th) ninjas.

Basically I need a boxed set of all them if we can't have them individually carded. I especially want the animal ninja, Dark Ninja Master, the desert ninja, and the skull head ninja.

As with the PoC Snake Eyes body, I don't mind an over use of the Renegades Storm Shadow body, because it makes awesome fodder.

You and me both! A variety of Ninja could not hurt.

I think all of the figures look like they could fit into a nice series of boxed sets. I'd get one of the ninjas, two or three of the zombies, three or more each of various Joe Troopers, and Cobra Troopers. The Sigma Six Duke could be his own boxed set. Just produce it in multiple colors and with different head sculpts to get Duke, Snake Eyes, Tunnel Rat, Fire Fly, etc. I really dig the S6 suit, especially if they tooled guns, knives and grenades to plug into it. I think it would be a crying shame for Flint, Lady Jaye, Hit'n'Run, Clutch and Kwinn not to see shelves with cards at their backs, but I'd rather get them in boxed set from than not at all.

The vehicles, I think, will be folded into the movie line, or never seen again. Which is too, bad, because the Steele Wolfe rocks.

After seeing the renagdes vehicles I think I am in love! they look great!

I stand corrected: Two figures use Retaliation ninja parts, one uses Renegades/30th ninja parts (all three use the same upper arms). The blue one only uses the web gear from 30th Storm Shadow. Dice seems to also use the Retaliation legs.

I don't care about mold reuse, I'm just saying that these figures, aside from color, don't seem to be much different than the very ninja-heavy theme of the Retaliation line. That said, the ninja set seems more like something that would work better as a mass retail set that could pick up some crossover customers than something that makes sense for the (narrower interest) collector market.

But if you guys want them, more power to you.

Only thing I don't want are the myriad of Steel Brigade repaints.

I'd like to see no more from the concept vault - too much like a kick between the uprights "Check out this cool stuff we could have done, but instead you got Snake Eyes V. 94"

Ranting aside, think it would be cool to do a "Zombie Apocalypse - Springfield" Edition. Two seven packs - each one containing two Joes equipped with flamethrowers, axes, and shotguns. Then, a mix of any five of the zombies.

For the Ninjas, a seven pack called "Legends of the Arikage"

Last 7 pack - 1 Kwinn. "He is so awesome, his macho fills the other 6 spaces. He is.....the most interesting figure never produced."

I dunno, I would probably buy a gold head version. Beyond that, though, no.
