Album up with some pics. I'm sure most of you have hit up the sites that got Hasbro's pics. Here are some of mine. http://www.joecustoms.com/albums/index. ... air%202012

I took one of the Bonka Zonks game because that is another line headed by John Warden (GI Joe head designer and all around great guy). I joked that he got stuck with it and he was very passionate about how it was a really fun game with all kinds of cool ways to play. Normally I'd chalk that up as industry selling talk but he had been very up front and honest about everything from articulation to female figure interest right before than.

A recap of the Facebook posts for those who couldn't/didn't follow.
JoeCustoms.com on Facebook wrote:
John Warden head designer: Movie Jinx his favorite figure. Sculpting took right up until deadline by Dave Proctor. Ghost Hawk 2 very Tomahawk like. Brings back building the the vehicle out of the box.

Vehicle drivers remind John of Air Raiders figures. Sculpts are great despite limited PoA.
In order to fit a certain price point and play value certain cuts had to be made. Heads are interchangeable.

Again John Warden: It is hard to fit a female figure in a boys line. They got the movie yellow version in though. Classic Jinx was just for the fans which is why no mass retail release.

Hasrbo lines have tooling for different lines in different factories. To get a mold from another line adds additional cost for the produced toy.

Overall this was a great showing for Hasbro. All of their lines had cool stuff. After last year when it was obvious GI Joe took a back seat, this year felt like it had renewed vigor with engines on full for all brands.

Correction: Classic Jinx was for a very very small percentage of very lucky fans

Did you get any info about quantity of SDCC and NYCC exclusives and what might be done to prevent a third year of fan rage?

So far coverage has been great and appreciated!

I saw General Hawk's article about Kwinn this morning. http://generalsjoes.com/2012/02/11/gene ... situation/

What's funny about that is when he was asking Daryl Depriest about this, Daryl responded and then called me out by name to make sure I heard the response. I'm guessing he wanted to make sure we knew they are trying to fit him in.

Going through the last of my notes.

Joe Colton was a late edition to the movie so he was a late edition to the toyline. They couldn't pass up the chance to make a Bruce Willis actoon figure.

When John Warden was talking to Rza about accessories, Rza, being a kung fu movie afficienodo, talked about very specific cool weapons from kung fu movies and asked if they had those. John replied No but we can make them.

Airborne (ripcord) from the battle 3 pack uses Data Viper body. John said despite not getting the drone and gear it was at least one step closer to getting us that figure.

thanks for all the great updates and pics pluv! I was late to seeing this thread, but glad I found it.

Marvel Universe looks to be in great shape going forward. I found more Joes that excited me after the full coverage than what I thought at first, and some of the Star Wars stuff is very exciting. Half of it will be fodder for my Joe customs, half will go to my son's new SW addiction.

I'd say very exciting weekend overall.

For serious? This is the only place I've seen this info. I hope that's the case. Guess he was farther along when they cancelled him than we thought, no way they'd be using the figure here if it hadn't already been tooled.

Perhaps this is the design team's sneaky way of circumventing the accounting dept. nixing him. :whistling:

Thanks for the good coverage, pluv. You dug up some info that I didn't see anywhere else, and between you and General Hawk, we've got a very clear idea of what's coming, both photographically and otherwise. Nicely played.

Also, I'm very excited to hear that the Data-Viper mold is going to make an appearance somewhere. I liked the looks of that figure, and I'll be looking forward to seeing what they do with it.
